ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    release bearing?

    Hi guys!

Heres the deal; I finished my H22a swap today, and at first it worked great, no problems.
But, when I got home, I suddenly couldnt get it in gear...
Also, when I pushed my clutch pedal it was a very loud noise coming out of the clutch housing
Can it be the release bearing thats broken??
    Anything helps

Ouch usually a loud squealing or so is usually a bad throwout bearing. You didnt change the clutch when you did your swap???

I didnt change the clutch, my teacher said it looked fine.
Can it be that the clutch isnt bled properly?
Starting to think that some parts may be rubbing together...

If it sounds like a rotating squeal and crap most likely your throwout bearing...How did your teacher check the clutch anyway? I mean if you have the trans off (i dont see any other way of checking the clutch) other than the 4th gear stall method but thats not the most accurate way to check. Plus if you ahd the trans off might as well put on a new clutch and throwout bearing or release bearing same thing.

I agree dood ! For a good clutch and bearing what is it now like 300 buck's u know why not ? But the throwout bearing noise u will usually hear it when u do NOT have the pedal pressed in. The noise should go away when u have the pedel pressed to the floor. Long story short if it's the bearing u will hear the rotating noise when the pedal is NOT pressed. Then if u press the pedal down and it stop's making noise then it's DEF. ur throwout bearing.

My teacher looked at the clutch when I had the trans out, and he said it looked okay.
I tried to suggest that I would change the clutch, but he gave me that; " Ive been fixing cars since before you where born", bla, bla...
Tried bleeding the clutch again, and it was alot of air, hope it gets better

I tried getting a new bearing, but nobody in Norway has in stock, so I would have to wait several months to get one
Have bled the clutch again, I hope the sound goes away...
