ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Wind Shield Washer Tank??

    Wind Shield Washer Tank??

currently my car is all salty and nasty and my wipers suck, they streak and spread the salt around so sometimes I can hardly see out clearly.

I have to use some windex all the time, etc.

It seems as if my windshield washer tank has a hole in it since I poured a whole bottle and it never filled, then I saw it all on the street, ha.

so is this easy to reach from the bottom of the car? and I checked ebay and couldnt find one for cb7 but I am finding some for the 5th gen, so would that fit our cars?

not sure if those fit or not. got any salvage yards around you? that's the next best place to get one if you have tools and some boots to walk around in mud.

theres one at the bottom of the hill from me along the river, that i got a bunch of things from. most of the time for pretty cheap too.

you have to take your front bumper off and its right their on your driverside in front of the wheel, i believe their is 3 to 4 10mm bolts holding it on cant remember hope this helps

I need to replace the hood release wire, so I'll have to remove the bumper anyways.

so are there any tabs that can break which hold the bumper, or is it just bolts?

check and make sure the line isnt pinched where the hood closes. I had this problem and though the tank had a hole in it too but it ended up being full. theres a hole in the upper portion of the filler neck that keeps the tank from being too full. try and use ur squirters with the hood up and see if they work.

I used a gallon of fluid and it seemed like it came out the bottom, but I'll try your method and see.

The easiest way to get to it would be to take your bumper off. it will be right there on the right side off the car.

                      Thanks for the tip!!!

I checked the lines and the rubber hose that connects the hood to the fender lines was completely off, I reattched it and my squirters now work!

but Im still confused about the capacity of the fluid. On my other cars when I filled it, I could visually see that it was full, but I filled this thing and I used the whole gallon of fluid, and it seemed a lot was on the street.

I seem to have at least some in there because mine work now.

Mine's having the same problem..I replaced the squirters, and it works better than it did, but its still real weak. Not to mention, my tank is broken right where the neck meets the tank. Its one of those things thats been on the back burner for me, cuz i never really have to use it It rains enough to keep my windows clear, lol. Ima hafta pull my bumper and check it all out.

Hey mjfan, when you checked all your hoses, did you have to pull the fender off or were you able to check them just with the hood up?

You don't actually have to take the bumper off to replace the tank. I just dropped the Drivers side inner fender. Pretty easy to get to that way.

luckily my problem was viasable on the outside with no hard work.

I was looking around and checking the lines tracing them back and I noticed this small rubber hose that wasnt connected to anything, then I saw a hard inlet which seems like thats where the hose was supposed to go, so it worked for me.

and now that its getting warmer I also dont have a use for it! lmao it will rain plenty.

but I couldnt use it when I needed it in the snow and salt, it really made my visibilty to near zero, and I drove semi blind sometimes, ha.

I think aside from the squirters and that whole system working, I think good wipers are important as well. I also use Rain-X, and pretty much since the day i started using that, i really havent had a need for my squirters.. The water and everything just beads right off my windsheild. But i saw that Rain-X just came out with some new advanced wipers and they look really cool. I havent had a chance to pick some up, but when i do i'll let everyone know how they work.
