ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

      purely on what u want

for under 1000, u can get near 250whp outta a dsm setup(god bless the tune)

or you can get an h22 and midly build it up to be a nasty NA setup(god bless the tune again)

haha, yes, god bless the tune. I would make sure you get some head studs, possibly a new better head gasket, and it isnt a bad idea to work up the internals a bit if you plan to push a decent amount of power. Make sure to get a compression test to make sure the engine is working as it should. H22 isn't as good to turbo, at leats thats what has been said by many people, it has a higher compression, and you really need to build the internals of an H before you turbo it. Just my thoughts, don't take them as fact lol.Do some research and check out homemadeturbo.com, they have alot of information about build a turbo kit at a relatively inexpensive price.

HAHAHAHAHA First you'll need a brain and then some common sense...

Were not going to hand feed you all the turbo info. Like Nail was suggesting do some reasearch. CB7tuner and homemade turbo are both good for information.

If you have the knowledge than Truboing the F22 isn't that difficult. It involves a lot of problem solving on your own personal vehicle.

Being a beginner is one thing. Being lazy is another. We have TONS of information on this subject on this forum. Please take a few minutes to look through it (hint, the Forced Induction part of the Performance section). Once you get the basics down, come back with any questions you may have. The people who have actually taken the time to learn (and in most cases, compile the information we have here) won't be very willing to help someone who won't even take the time to read what they've already done. If you're too lazy to read, you're DEFINITELY too lazy to build a turbo system.

I don't mean to be rude, but "tell me everything I'll need" is asking a lot. The only people that won't mind answering that question are beginners themselves. They might know what they're talking about, but they also might not.

I was looking for a list of each item that is needed, not a detailed paragraph, not a description of each, the actual item's name. (i.e. Blow off valve). Not links to somewhere(although I appreciate Nail05's link), not a 1,000 word article, not a story. I have 2 jobs at 16 and school and other things to do and don't have time to 'read'.
It's not the laziness of me, it's the time that I have to read, which you said for yourself, "The people who have actually taken the time to learn". I spend 16 hours out of the day outside of my house, using my brain, especially for 8 hours of it at a thing called school, I come home exhausted.

Now that the NaiL05 has linked me to the forced induction thread, I can sit here and overtime take a look at it, also with the other replies, I sat here and within 5 minutes read the replies and wrote this reply. It's simple and direct, Q & A. Some people are not good at teaching and memerizing what they read.

Yes, I am a beginner. So you can go laugh your ass off, but maybe I didn't know there was a thread on this subject. Everytime I use the search button, nothing comes up of what I want. Instead of posting and criticizing, you could've helped or not posted at all.
You wasted just as much time telling me your nonessential opinion towards noobs instead of answering my question. Now on my case, yes I could've been reading up on turbo, but thank god for tonight I have an hour or so to relax to myself, and I figured, hey, might as well tell off a few people that have no respect towards new people. Great way to welcome somebody to your website.
Now showing that I do have a brain, and probably more common sense than you do, Rusty, you can have a nice day. It's a good Idea when you go to hit the post reply button trying to flame someone on having a brain and common sense, read over your post, correct errors, and look somewhat Intelligent. Thanks.

If you are too busy to read up on turbo's, then you are too busy to build a kit and install it. Im sorry, but alot of us have spent alot of tiem researching this and when some kid comes in and just asks us what you need, go to honda-tech.com and there is a sticky in their forced induction about every piece you need. Go on google and search for 2 minutes, you'll find what you are looking for. But take the initiative, dont expect us to spoon-feed you everything, thats just rude and a waste of our time. And I have a large appreciation for new people wanting to learn, I was there not too long ago myself, so don't make assumptions about us because we were all new, and we took the time and effort it takes to learn this stuff, your taking the easy way out. So don't point fingers at us, point them at yourself.

Rusty has installed a turbo kit. She knows her stuff. She has helped MANY new people with their questions. However, when someone says "give me a list of what I'll need"... that's just laziness. Yeah, you may not have time, but do we know that? Do we care? Why should we waste our time helping you decide that it's too time consuming to do? We could help you understand that people are willing to help those that are willing to help themselves... Show some initiative, and people will help you. Ask to be spoonfed, and people will get irritated.

                  Here's your list:
-Turbo (T3/T4 is ideal, 14b is passable... anything smaller, like a t25, will probably cause damage)
-Exhaust manifold (the stock Eclipse manifold will work with redrilling, or you could buy a real F22 manifold)
-Intercooler (Johnny Race Car intercoolers are cheap and good for a small system. Stock Mitsubishi Starion, SRT-4, EVO, STi, and Fuso intercoolers have also been used)
-Charge piping. Needs to be custom. A cold air intake helps for the intake side, but the rest needs to be fabricated. h22sparkle used to have a hookup on CB7-sized piping, he may still.
-BOV. Stock DSM is often used.
-Wastegate. Many smaller, cheaper turbos will have internal wastegates. If you get one without, get a quality external wastegate. A quality external is a better choice than internal anyway.
-Injectors. With some minor modification, DSM (Eclipse) 450cc injectors will work.
-Downpipe. Custom. There's no way around it.
-Exhaust. Custom. Stock exhaust is quite restrictive for a turbo system. 3"+ is best.
-Clutch. You WILL fry an old stock clutch. You WILL fry a new stock clutch. Turbos make more torque than the stock stuff is made to handle. Get something that can handle more. XTD stage 2 or 3 are decent for the price.
-ECU. A chipped P06 ECU from a 92-95 Civic EX or Si will be needed. MRX provides a service to modify the ECU. He can give you a basemap that will run your car, but a proper tune is needed for reliability.
-Boost gauge. You can do without, but it's wise to have one.

                  That's about it.

The F22 head flows very well, and responds well to modification. Internals are cheap to replace due to the stock iron sleeves. Also, the motors are VERY inexpensive.
The H22 head doesn't flow as well as the F22 head when modified, but is still quite good. The FRM sleeves in the H22 make most forged pistons unusable... there are only a few compatible brands. The higher-revving capability of the H22 is not needed for a turbo motor.

The F22 is the better choice for turbo. For the cost of an H22, you can do most of the bottom-end work for the F22. Also, if you blow the F22 up, they aren't that expensive to replace. The DSM manifold also doesn't fit easily on the H22.

Thank you and done. Now I'm off to search(for the products that is).

One more question though, as you say 'custom' what does that necessarily mean? Why is that so much needs to be customized? So turbo kits thaty ou buy online according to your car all the piping is already custom? Well a few questions, but i promise that's it.

i.e exhaust. go to an actual like steel piping warehouse type thing and get a custom made exhaust just to my car?

and btw, if that's all you seniors are going to do, is complain and bitch, how are we ever going to post? This is not the 1st time I've ran into crticism.

Those are the kinds of questions people don't mind answering... it's not a blanket "what do I need" statement, but a focused question.

Muffler shops are best. One that has a mandrel-bending machine is ideal (mandrel bent piping doesn't get narrower at the bends, making for a less-restrictive exhaust... turbo engines are very sensitive to exhaust restriction). A decent muffler shop could make your downpipe and exhaust for you... Around me, it would be about $600 without any hookups. I know people that have had it done for MUCH less.
www.kteller.com is also a good place for the exhaust piping. They have (or at least they did last time I was there) mandrel bent piping for our cars in stock. I don't know anyone that sells downpipes though. You'd need one flanged to fit your turbo anyway.

Many of the online kits (of which I can't find any for our cars anymore) may come with a downpipe. Chances are, they won't be flanged properly to fit the stock exhaust. The stock exhaust is far too restrictive for a turbo anyway, so there's no point even trying to keep it.

All it took was a search.... but here since your too busy please let me do all of your work for you.

                        http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...o+Instructions
This thread lists almost complete kits that use to be for sale... they have lists of parts included.

                        http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...o+Instructions
And for after when you've gotten all of your parts and your ready to install I've got some instructions waiting here for you.

As for your questions about custom exhuasts I believe Hondatuner998's father owns a custom muffler shop and he had talked about hooking a few of us up with exhaust set ups.

I'm sorry i forgot your too busy to look it up so please let me do it
                        http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=68067

And if you've ran into this criticizm more than once maybe you should take the hint and search just a little bit harder before asking people to spoon feed you.

TRUST ME. Before I even posted that, I re-think things over and said, "Hmmmm I bet someone...." and I had said someone will make a reply according to what you had said, and it happened. Also the fact that yes some teenagers do work as hard as me.
Trust me when I say this, It's alot more than that. You don't want me getting more detailed.
I haven't been into community service, for 3 different places, over 40 hours a week with the jobs(not a regular person does that) and etc.... including not allowed out past 7 pm unless coming to and from work.

But like I said, let's just end this.
