ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Supercharger is possible it just takes work. Turbo is the easier route for the f22a.

nitrous is the best per dollar power gain you could ever do to your car... for $600 (on the expensive side) you can add 100hp to your motor probably blowing it up in the process

turbo can be done for around $1500 and with a good tune can bring your car up to the 210whp range without much problem

Supercharger for the F22a would be a fun project but there is no such thing as a bolt on kit available for our motors, so if you can fab then this might be the route you go and the cost would be anyones guess...

if you want to go this route i suggest using an opcom charger (lysholm, rotocharger) these chargers are about 80% efficient and make a wicked sound
and on the plus side if you didnt have a F22a6 i think that the supercharger route would be the best because of the torque out put at lower rpm

if you had an F22a6 turbo would be better for higher RPM power, just like every honda made!

but if you just want bang for the buck.... NOS... i ran a 50 shot for a while and i got really trigger happy with it, its a ton o' fun
I need NOS... give me one of these... make it 2... oh and hairy... i need it by tonight!

or you can just run 13" tires... put more of the power to the ground

              less rotating mass= more WHP

haha but if you go by this advice then you should take your brakes off and run a 12" wheel with a 20 series tire

the lysholm supercharger is a twin screw charger learn more here

i had one of these on my Corrado and i swear by it! but like i said youre going to need a butt load of cash or the ablity to machine VERY precise parts

Eaton blowers are the roots style... just a brand (and probably the best of that type). There are also twin-screw types (found in the Mazda Milenia.... that's the Lysholm mentioned above)

Centrifugal superchargers were not yet mentioned.... and would probably be the easiest to get to work on our cars. The Procharger is fairly affordable (as in, under $4000), intercooled, and very efficient. It's basically the same thing as a turbo, only belt-driven rather than exhaust driven. Same concept with the compressor. The Procharger would require fabrication of a bracket, and relocation (and removal) of some accessories, like the AC, power steering, and Alternator. Easier than fabricating an intake manifold!

www.wikipedia.org and www.howstuffworks.com are also great resources to learn.

Understand the concepts behind superchargers... and you might as well read up on turbo, nitrous, and naturally-aspirated performance as well. Learn the benefits and drawbacks of each, and you'll be able to figure out what meets your needs.

IMO, superchargers are very interesting... and compared to turbo, they're a little safer. A centrifugal supercharger is just like a turbo in many ways, but being belt-driven, there's less risk of accidental overboosting. A failed wastegate in a turbo system can destroy your motor. A properly intercooled centrifugal supercharger system with a good tune is more predictable. NOTHING is fool-proof, but for a daily driver, I'd prefer a supercharger over a turbocharger. They're both great, when done properly, though. (fyi, a turbo technically IS a supercharger...)

but back on topic, nitrous oxide-75 shot should be enough, but i hate bottles b/c i think of them as cheating except when i comes to bragging rights on the strip(AN OPINION GUYS, NO ONE COME SHOOT ME)

Nitrous is great... until it runs out.
Turbo is great, after the lag.
NA is great, after 6000 RPM
Superchargers are great... ALL THE TIME

The downside to a supercharger is that it's not as versatile as a turbo in terms of adjusting the boost.
