ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    h22 breathing

i recently swapped an h22 into my cb7. i have adjust cam gears, obx exhuast, headers, and intake...but when i take off at first it seems a lil sluggish until i mash on the gas a little harder, then it opens up. but even still it feels as if the flow of air is clogged or something. someone told me it could be something with the engine or thats just how it is since the engine is naturally heavy. so i need to know what i can do to feel that power that my engine has. my filter is clean, should i go with a foam type filter, move my battery for better airflow(i have an 93 se so the e-bay is really tight) or do something to the fuel?...let me know guys.

have you ever driven a different h22a vehicle? have you had a quicker car before? what trans are you running? and is your clutch slipping? how much ish do you have in the car? idunno. unless you haven't noticed vtec will make a difference in feel. maybe you just want vtec to crack a little earlier (chipped p28) maybe a around around 4000rpms rather than 5600. good luck bro.
hey. my cb7 has morphed. haha.

no i havent had an earlier h22a, and youre probably right about me wanting the vtec to crack earlier, so i guess its gonna take getting use to since i came from a 5sp f22 91 cb7 and this h22 being an AT(yea sucks) so i guess that could be a factor. but ive drivin hondas with h22 setup and it seems to have pull of course w/5sp but also with AT tranny launching from 4th gear.

The H22 feels very similar to the F22 before VTEC (I just argued this point elsewhere... but it does, in a way). It doesn't feel like a 200hp motor in low rpms. That could be the reason. The weight of the motor isn't that much more than the F22A, so that is definitely not a factor.

Check your timing, make sure it isn't retarded considerably.

yea that must be it then @ vergote, i must get the timing checked by someone else cause i had a shop to do the timing and they claim its right, but i need 2nd, 3rd opinnion. thanks

Just get a timing light and do it yourself. It's a simple process, and the lights are like $30 at Sears... not to mention, you can use it in the future to adjust your timing if necessary (a slight advance can increase performance)

Down low, the H22 isn't anything spectacular. Mated to an automatic transmission, and it's even less spectacular.

check your map sensor. it checks the manifold pressure at low rpms and adjsuts the fuel ratio accordingly. That is the issue i had with my swap. i put an h22 map sensor on it.

i agree with the ingition timing- check it for urself, it will mess with the power band

i'd have to disagree with you on that deever. i felt a pretty big difference when driving casually in town. i'm giving the h quite a bit less throttle than i gave the old F22.

definetly do not want to set vtec at 4000 rpm you will lose power and run slower times. it kinda sounds like you may be running super rich just like me
