ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    I need security help!

Hello everyone. I have a couple of security questions i needed help with.

1a. I was looking into the whole shaved door handle thing and I wanted to know what would happen if my door didn't pop all the way or something? Is there another way i could get in?

1b. Anyone out there have anything that they would like to say about the shaved door kit? you know like pros and cons.

1c. Still on the shaved door thing can i install that myself or should i seek professional assistance?

    2. Does anyone know the name of a car alarm system where you can record your own messages like some British lady saying "Your alarm is now armed Mr. Goode"? I think that would be pretty cool.

    3. I think this is possible but i just want to make sure. Can i have a car alarm, remote start, trunk pop, door lock/unlock and shaved door poppers and have them all on one controller thing?

Sorry its so much but i figured i'd get it all out the way at once.

    Thank you.

As far as another door open option u have 2 install a release latch some where HIDe anywhere u want around the car, like under wheel well or something,

and to me the pros and cons is IF u buy a cheap kit it wont last long as a DECEnt runnin KIt

i would think in the DEAD winter when everything and they mama's freezes up the door wont open, it might but i dunno

The winters down here in Georgia are unseasonably warm so i don't have to worry about that.

1a) There should be a fail safe installed incase such electrical problems prevent your solenoid from performing its job. It sorta defeats the purpose of having it as a security measure since there is now a switch installed in your car that can be accessed.
1b) Get a good solenoid with lots of force, you wouldn't want a weak one. Or a really strong one that just swings the door 100+mph.
1c) Depends how mechanically inclined you are.
            2) I did but they stop making them since it was more of an annoyance. That and little kids would love setting your car off.
            3) Sure, that'll depend on the aux outputs from your alarm system.

Now that is also a good idea. I just don't want to look like: A) I'm breaking into MY car. or B) a jackass who shaved his handles and can't find a cool way in.

But worst case scenario..... It will have to do.

                Thanks everyone for you help!
