need help on getting a better ecu

i have ask this before but couldnt get a straight answer on which ecu that has no speed limiter would be best for my car without having to mod it. keepin in mind that i have auto tranny does the replacement better ecu has to go with a certain tcu for them to work together or it doesnt matter do they work separately ???? i have a 91 ex engine in my car not sure what f22 that is. if it is a1 or a6 ?

If you don't want a speed limiter you can take it to someone who knows how to remove it and you can keep your stock ecu.

Any ECU other than your stock ECU will make your engine perform differently... and not better, unless you tune it.

Do you have an EX? I THINK the LX and DX ECUs don't have a limiter... but I'm not 100% positive. It tops out at 115-ish anyway, why the hell do you want to go faster than that?

1. it's illegal
2. it's dangerous
3. you'll fry your auto tranny because it isn't meant for those high speeds.

i always thought that the DX & LX did have the spd limiter while the EX did not?

There are reasons why it has that limiter on lower models. Its a safety feature. Yea you can swap ECU and go faster but the other parts have to be up to par. You cant just swap ECU and go on a cannonball its dangerous. I did 125 in my old ex. Those had no limiters but yea...Its not recommmended. Plus if you race at a quarter track I doubt your gonna be hitting 100mph.

I guess I had it backwards... I never went that fast! I like my license... and my life.

But yeah, the PT6 from the EX models should work. To work PROPERLY, it should be paired with the EX exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and camshaft.

buy the 94-95 non-vtec ecu and you can chip it... or just have it reprogramed.. eather way ull need to ajust your timing by turning your distributer..if you dont ajust timing ull have no idle and ur motor will die if you dont hold the revs manualy

i got a 94 non-vtec ecu reprogramed by SPOON.... i alreadt tested it for the govenor and its gone. but i only installed it temporarly with out setting the timing just so i could test it... i plan on boosting my motor then ill reinstall my ecu

Donts do this. If anything do it right. Buy a p06 and tune it properly. Dont buy a spoon, skunk2, mugen bs on ebay all it does is make your car run rich. Anyway if your stock a pt6 will work. But anyway use at your own risk. Last thing we need to see is someone fuckin up shit. We already have rockinricer for that.
