ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Cold Air Intake???

I have seen a lot of people go with the SRI and just add a lower pipe so that the extra air can be directed to the SRI filter. This is a mid point between both the cold air and the short ram. It works very good because same as a short ram you are stilll with in close range of the motor yet when you fully open your car up you get the extra air hitting the filter

the most important thing about SRI and CAI is the piping. The costly piping is suppose to be made of a metal that resists heat. why have cheap knock-off pipe running from the TB to the bumper when the pipe gets hot it just heats the air in it. Defeats the purpose. If the metal does not resist heat then it will heat the volume of air it carries.
I use Weapon R its feels like metal but then it doesnt. Its suppose to resists temps up to 500

I live in the CA and carb stickers play a big roll out here on after market parts. This is why I got an aem short ram for 188 dollars but if you live some where that carb is not a big deal then I would recomend getting a cold air off of ebay that comes in two peices. so when it rains you can take the lower pipe out and put the filter on the uper pipe for short ram. when it gets hot just pup the lowe pipe back on and put the filter on the lower pipe to get colder air.

any one ever tryed just slapping the filter on the TB? it would be the shortest short ram air ever... and for a super efective cold air intake, buy a intercooler kit and an intercooler and hook that up, then put the filter on the end of it... thats what i like to call a SUPER COLD AIR INTAKE
and you already have your intercooler kit instaled if you ever decide to go turbo

I wonder how loud that would be? Or where you bottom end power would go.....

They already make kits like that. It's called an "Interfooler" It acts as a FMIC but runs straight to the TB with a filter so it's like one big intake. I personally don't think it yields much more of a difference than the SRI and the CAI. But I haven't seen any dyno graphs or anything like that to back up the information.
