ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Battery Light on and off while driving ???

hey guys I am new to this site and was just wondering does anybody know why my Battery Light on my instrument panel keeps going on and off...???? I just bought a new battery and was wondering if it could be the alternator that is going bad...??? I had the alternator tested and they said it was running about half the amps and volts it should be...so will that set my battery light off...??? and why does it go on and off if all the conections and terminals are good, and the belt is just fine ...??? will my 1000 w amp and 12 inch sub drain the alternator...??? thanks for your help...

im going to say its your alternator... if youve got a good battery and connections, thats the next logical suggestion. every other time ive heard of (and experienced) a flashing batt light, it was the alternator. did this just start? do u ever have problems with the car unable to start with a dead/weak batt?

i vote for the alternator too and if you don't fix it now, it will definitely strand you somewhere in a few days. is the belt routed correctly and tight and all that shit?

Its defineitley your alternator. But one thing i need to know is if the light comes on when you turn your speakers on or off? That will also determine the problem. You could just be pulling to many amps when your system is on and cause your light to come on since your alternator is already putting out half of what it should be.

I vote for the alternator too. The same thing happened to me. I thought it was some connection problem, and just kept driving. Two days later, the light came up and didn't go off again. Then my car died on the road before long.
