ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Do you know what turbos do? Do you know how they work? Do you know what else is involved? If not, then you need to learn a thing or two before you even attempt this.

MRX did just what you are saying... but he properly tuned his motor, and it lasted for a bit. He did eventually blow, and he's not the type to abuse his car. It just gave out after a while.

Learn ECU tuning. Get quality parts. Install and tune everything properly. Don't beat on the car. It will work. However, the simple fact that you're asking this question suggests that you don't know the first thing about installing a turbo, which leads me to believe that you are not prepared in the least to undertake such a project.

                you rich???

if you are then go for it...... get another block and tell us what you beat out there

if you arent, then hold off, unless you know COMPLETELY what your doing, then slapping a turbo of whatever sizes, flow rate, etc. will only warrant a blown motor

read until you understand, THEN READ SOME MORE....

buy a back up engine, slap the turbo kit on, tune it and see what happens. what's the worse you could do.....
blow the engine????? that's about it, right
if the engine doesn't blow, the clutch (or tires) is going to slip like crazy

Very true. The clutch won't hold out for long, especially if it's already old and worn (many CBs are still running their original clutches!)

If you know what it takes, and can understand the potential issues... and are willing to assume the risks... then go for it. Since you're asking the question, I'm assuming you don't know enough.

why waist your time boosting your stock engine? if you have enough money to boost your cb and take the risk of buying a "back up motor" then why not hit the books and grab some of the DIY's on these boards. use them to your advantage. stock engine low PSI or not isnt going to hold for long, either build it up interally, or grab a stronger engine build it up and slap on that turbo. you'll get a much more reliable car and not pay out the back end to fix your "ignorant" mistake.

im sure theres some horror stories of people already attempting this....

yeah I wouldn't suggest just slapping on any turbo There are a lot of things to think about mainly tuning and other things like your clutch, fuel injectors, fuel pump, boosting is a pretty big project that takes some research before doing because you risk a higher chance of having problems if you dont really know what you are doing.

The stock engine CAN hold with low boost and a good tune... but it increases the chances of something going wrong. If there is a flaw in the engine, something that is on its way out, the turbo will cause the imminent damage to accelerate.

Yup you have to make sure your engine is running strong, you can run a compression test and leakdown test that would help, but I think a t3/t4 is too big of a turbo for a f22 anyway

Nah, that's what MRX is running. Any smaller can be bad.
People say 14b, but that's just because they're easy to get... and cheap. They're too small. As is a t3 (I know, I'm mixing brands )
