ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Couple of drop questions..

ok so ive really really wanted to drop my car lately and have been looking at a couple options for a lower cost...

now what i think i want to do is buy some tein s-tech springs and keep my stock shocks...now my questions are would it be safe to run a camber kit from ebay, or should i save up money to get a legitimate kit? secondly how do i know which camber kit to purchase?(due to there being ones that are labeled with different degree ranges)....now i also have 17" rims with 17/45 tires, will my tires rub the car at all with the tein s-tech drop?

now also is it safe to just run these parts or would i be needing anything else?

and my goal is to keep it at a relatively low cost due to me being short on car funds
    any better options someone has?

    thanks for any help

DO NOT DO THIS. this is the absolute cheapest, most dangerous way to lower your car. plus you will blow your stock shocks really quickly.

honestly, if you want to lower your car really badly right now, then you could just go ahead and buy the springs and ride with the stock shocks for now as long as you plan on getting some good aftermarket ones farther down the road. the ride wont be as comfortable with the stock springs and will probably blow them after a while, but if you plan on getting others anyway, then it doesnt matter.

check this thread out. it should answer all your questions

ok thanks for the help 91 Ex-R, and yea i would never cut my springs...i want to do my suspension right

i think what i want to do is tein s-tech springs, ingalls front camber kit, washers for the rear camber, and either tokico blues or kyb gr2's....

im debating on whether i should just save up the money to get everything at once or go ahead and get the springs and camber....
        i want it lowered : /

If you want it lowered, do it right. This is your suspension. Blow a shock, and you'll increase your chances of losing control at high speeds. I was driving next to a BMW on the highway... an old one, with a young girl driving. She had blown rear shocks. I could tell by the fact that her rear wheels were lifting off the ground visibly whenever she drove over an expansion joint in the highway! If someone cuts you off and you go to swerve with blown shocks, your car won't respond properly. Go to hit the brakes and one of your wheels is in the air? You'll spin.

DO NOT go cheap on your suspension or brakes. EVER. If you don't have the money to do it right, you don't have the money to do it. Save up.

That's a good plan. Shop smart, and you'll be under $500.

honestly, it would be better to just save it up and have a nice suspension setup like the one you already mentioned. it might be a pain to wait for a while, but you'll be happy you did. it'll be a HUGE improvement if you do it all at once.

hell, id like to lower my car too but other things must come first. things such as college and the H22. just save up and in the end you'll be happy that you did.

I have been running on Tein S-tech's and stock shocks/struts for just over two weeks now. No complaints here. The S-tech's are a mild enough drop that as long as you get your alignment checked and adjusted you should not need a camber kit..

Cutting your springs is NEVER an answer unless you enjoy risking your car, your life and the lives of everyone around you everytime you drive. Cut springs are EXTREMEMLY UNSAFE. Yes it is cheap to do and it may look good but if the car is going to be driven on any public roads DO NOT just cut the springs. Cut springs open the door to so many problems for both you and your car.

The S-techs are very reasonably priced on Ebay and occasionally there is a set of used that will show up on here in the Classifieds. Just like any other time you purchase anything on Ebay be carefull of fakes. If you do decide to go with the S-tech's and want to purchase them from Ebay, I would recommend visiting Tein.com. They have an entire page dedicated to spotting the fake Tein's on Ebay. They show pictures of the real authentic product next to the fakes. The fakes, in most cases, are cheaper and still say Tein on them BUT, you dont know what you are getting. Just do your homework and be an educated consumer with any Ebay purchases and you will be fine.. Good luck. Later

What I was gonna say. The S tech doesnt drop your car enough for a camber kit.

do you think the tein s-tech too small of a drop? i want it to have a nice stance without being absolutly slammed but still be able to tell that its been lowered....
how do the h&r or neuspeed sports compare in drop? (it said to have less of a drop than the teins)

If you wanna see an H&R drop look up gdout90accord he has an h&r race setup on his car. I am running sprint blues on stock struts which is a 2.25" drop (more because of worn strut). Take a ruler and measure your wheel gap and go from there to seee how much you want to drop it. Just because the spring says it will drop that low doesnt mean it always will if you get an aftermarket shock (AGX is a good example) Good shock but shitty ride height failure.
