ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Bent Rod??? Or something Else ? ??

My lady was driving my car to work and she said all of the sudden car started to make noise kinda like a blow-off valve and the car jerked. she then pulled over and called me. I get there and didnt see and broken belts, oil leaks, or anything out of place. I started the car and it idle good until the car made a weird tapping noise as if there was a bent rod or a really bad lifter.Drove it back home and no strange noise ever since . You guys think maybe it was my new air-filter that i customized to fit the spec on the car? i didnt reset the ecu...maybe cause of that???? ....HELP

sounds like rod knock. I can almost guarantee you didnt bend a rod. A valve, MAYBE, but not a rod.

Check your oil level, then check your bearings if the noise is persistent.

Yep rod knock would be heard throughout the range and gets progressively faster when you go up in the engine revs.

rev the engine or just drive, i threw a rod and when ever my car got to the shift points (it's an automatic) i could hear it, if that is the case your motor is blown, also when i got the new engine put in the jackasses that did it left a loose wire that got caught in the oil pump belt and made that same noise check and make sure that is working because that will cause oil to not flow to your engine also causing it to knock and sieze like mine engine number 3 is great though

Check this shit out... once again the car did same thing today. pulled it to a mechanic shop and they were like it could be an oil filter pump or the screen is cloged in the oil pan. $300-$400 to do the job... i said hell no... so took it auto-zone and it ended up to be bad spark plugz!!!!! It was a SPARK KNOCK but hey guys thanx for the ideas of what it would have been
