ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    A4 header Vs. Aftermarket

I read here somewhere that the A4 header was as good, if not better than most of the aftermarket brands...Megan, DC etc.. I cant find that thread now, though. Is the A4 better? If so should i get the downpipe as well, or is it the same as my A6 pipe?

Keep the A4. It is a tubular 4-2-1 design; it's just as good as DC and egay headers.

yeah get it. don't forget to bring some WD40 or something that will help break down the rust. i didn't bring any with me the other day so just two bolts were keeping me from going home with it. it's the two big ones that hold it to the flex pipe.

yea they are 14's if I can remember correctly. PB blaster works ok.
I used a long breaker bar for those.

on a side note- the yards over here always CUT the damn Cat off, insead of unbolting it, making the downpipe useless, or at least thats what I see it as.
you're gonna need the downpipe/flexpipe, unless you have a F22A6.

i wish i had enough room to get a breaker bar into there but with the car still having the radiator in it still , i might have to resort to bringing my much stronger friend to bust those bolts loose.

well i was going to do the whole exhaust anyways so i was going to buy a whole new downpipe all the way back. i figured it out in my head that if i was going to do that anyways, why not get something that makes my car a little more peppy header wise that is...

i've seen the stainless steel header and downpipe combo on ebay go for like 70 bucks shipped but i prefer OEM especially if it's an option that i could go with.

the only kink in my plan is i'll need a new o2 sensor unless i can get an extension for my A1's o2 sensor.

I do have the A6, i guess that means i can use my downpipe . The prelude i got my h23 head/IM/TB off of let me take the Exhaust manifold off with a 3/8 ratchet, everything came off that car so easy i forgot i lived in the rustbelt.

so the top half of the a4 header will bolt to the lower of an a6?
I wonder if it will bolt to the lower of my f22b header?

so what is an A6 header a 4-1? and I thought it was better than the a1 and a4? or is that the intake manifold? im confused. Right now i've got a dc sport 421 but i remember my old header was much heavier than my ceramic one i currently have. So, if I put an A4 header on, wont it have an o2 sensor attachment? so then I'll have 2 o2 sensors? will that work?

OK, the A6 header is 4-2-1 CAST design, it isnt shaped the same as the A4. bottomline, A4 is the best of all 3 headers.
DONT put the upper half of the A4 header on your DC sports down pipe thinking you'll get gains or you'll be wasting your time. UNLESS youre trying to get by smog. I'm not sure it would even fit...My DC header doesnt have a carb stamp - I was told they were all carb legal; maybe he just wanted me to buy it.
