ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    tranny mounting issues

to be short im swappin an h22 all mounts lined up fine but the tranny mount is too close to the wall and the holes dont match. no pulling or prying seems to help. Is this because i didnt use washers like cpmike said to?

"if youre planning ot use a 5spd tranny from a 92-93 accord EX, 94-97 accord, or 92-01 prelude (with 5 stud spots on top): you need to use a 94-97 accord or 92-96 prelude 5spd tranny mount. you will also need to stack washers 3/8" tall on the studs for the DRIVER side mount, so it sits up a bit higher. itll be a tight horizontal squeeze and youll need to jack the motor up a bit to get the front mount in, but itll work perfectly fine and will not require welding."

because the motor seems to sit nice and even just holes are like half an inch off. oh and also i really dont have much room at all to go on the drivers side.

the tranny mount is hitting the side of the bay because technically its too far over, but thats just how the mount is.

leave the 3 studs for the tranny mount pretty loose (like a half-inch of gap), enough that the mount can be tipped to the right enough to get the center hole lined up. it will only work if the other mounts are all loose too

you must add the spacers on the driver side, or your axle will bind.

its a very tight fit and will take work to squeeze it in with a crowbar. once all the bolts are in, THEN tighten them all. the tranny mount, though crooked, should start to pull straight as you tighten it down.

once the sides and rear are in, the front wont line up. you need to jack up the engine to try to get the bolt through.

all of the mounts will be stressed at rest and the motor will be sitting slightly low in the front, but it will all be centered in the bay enough that itll work.

      couple more quick questions,

      1. how many 3/8 washers?

      2. if i get a 5th gen trans mount will I be having the same issues? using the preludes now.

      3. i have the front mount in, should i take it out to get trans mount in?

anyway thanks man. that should be enough, i'll just go trial and error from here.

hey mike i PMed you but forget it because i figured out most of my wiring problems. now vacuum line well been studying Chiltons like crazy

        1. 3/8" height of washers. not sure of their diameter but they need to fit around the thick base of the stud. itll take a few to stack 3/8" - 1/2" high.

        2. 5g accord mount is the same as the prelude mount, just looks slightly different

        3. do the front mount last, take the dogbone out for now. get it sitting on the side ones loose, tip it till the rear lines up, then jack it until the front does.

this is how the spacers should look on the drivers side mount

the bottom piece is the bracket that bolts to the timing belt side of the motor, and the top is the mount itself. The spacer was about 3/8" tall and you'll need 2, one for each stud
