ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Gas Light

Hey, does anybody know when the gas light comes on?
Like how many litres or gallons are left in the tank once the light first comes on?
Is it the same for all CB7's? Because i have a 92 LX Sedan

I have always had alot of miles left..... I have gone like 35 miles at the most, and I have never ran out of fuel before.

My Ex-Girlfriend had a1993 ex, and she said that the fuel light means there is 50 miles more to go, but I have had to take a gas can to her ALOT!

dont rely on the light...my story...

I used to live by the gas light. I would be on "E" and when it came on it meant i could go to wrk and back for 2 more days(about 14-16 miles round trip).
Well monday came and I was on "E", no gas light.Tuesday,no light.Wed., no light.Thrus., no light. Well Friday comes, still no light. so im like okay on the way to work im just gonna full it cuz somethings up. Sure enough on the exit ramp it starts sputtering and im stuck. Had to wait for this loser from the job to bring some gas so icoul make it the rest of the way.

moral of the story...dont depend on that light.

oh and its never worked since that day.

maybe ill pull the cluster and check the bulb.nah.

i can't back it up, but i read once that they use the 10% mark for the gas light trigger. basically just under an 1/8th of a tank. should be around 30-50 miles for the cb7

I've gone 50 miles on the light myself...

I always heard 2 gallons remaining... but then again, it's never 100% accurate, no matter what the method of measurement. Gas sloshes around, and there's not much they can do to know exactly how much gas is in there (I suppose there could be some complicated methods, but I seriously doubt they'd do that...)

i think its supposed to come on when there are 2-3 gallons left. ONe time i drove for 50 miles with the light on and i didnt run out of fuel. ONe time i drove for 30 miles with the light on, and ran out of fuel. The 50 one was in the summer and the 30 one was in the winter. i usually take it to 350 miles and then fill up somewhere.

This is my lesson of what I know... I always fill it up and run it until the light comes on. At the pump I always put in Between 14-14.6 gallons... The accord come with a 17 gallon tank so I figure about 16.5 is usable... So my math says you have about 2 gallons left when the light turns on...

Now this all depend on how heavy your foot is and if you are in the city or highway.

haha that's actually funny you put this up here. I was driving the other night and my needle was on E...so I was all "I'll fill up when my light comes on"...that never happened...next thing I know my car jerks and stalls out on a main road in the middle of the night haha...Don't know if it shoulda come on or not but, don't wait for it haha

my gas light doesn't work, so I didn't fill it and my car didn't start one day. it started but dies in 2 seconds so I had to use a can to fill it and it started.

well.. the gas light does vary. because in all three of my cb's the gas hand is a different spot when the light comes on. i have never pushed the amount of miles because i just don't want to take that chance.. and no one else should.

WORST thing you can ever do to a fuel pump.. to run it dry. I always fill up at 1/4 tank no matter what, i dont drive it under a quarter unless its to go get milk or soemthing.

are the needle and light independent of one another? or which one is more accurate? meaning.. does the needle trigger the light?
