ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    blance shafts

i recently removed the balance shaft belt, while doing a timing job because i was lazy. funny thing is i cant really tell a difference either way. maybe gave me a little more power at the wheels but really nothing to notice. and no shaking either. i plan to put it back on for the longrun and longevity. just wonderin anyone else remove these?

How did you take out the shaft from the engine from doing a timing job. As I recall thers a lot more to just pulling them. When you say take them out like the whole assembly or just the belt...Usually people gain upwards ot 8-10hp upon removable and higher oil pressure.

like the post said i only removed the belt both, shafts are still sitting there. i was in a hurry and it was a bitch to line up one of those pulleys and i wanted to see if i had bent any valves so i just installed timing belt. the trick part was i had to still put the tensioner in the tightened position cuz thats what keeps the timing belt from sliding off the pulleys, had to figure that out the hard way hehe so if you remove them you can get higher oil pressure?

      ....im searching.......

...Removing the belt doesnt do shit at all...You have to remove the complete assembly. They have kits for this stuff...For F22A i dunno for H22A they have one...I would put back the belt if they arent fully removed.

d112crzy did that on his car too. i asked about it but he never answered me. and he answered like 5 other peoples post after that. oh well.

so you just took your balance shaft belt off? the one in front of the timing belt?(its a stupid question but just want to know.)

isnt there a gear down there that needs that belt to rotate?

the belt connects front and rear balance shafts that run from the crank. Nothing else.

yea shadow exactly. took the belt off. the one in front the timing belt. i changed my timing belt and the balnce belt had to come off to get access. there is 2 gears not hooked up, the way i understand it. one is the front balance shaft and the other is rear balance shaft. i was told all they do is counter weight so not to much vibration is felt

if i do not feel any vibration under normal driving, is there any reason to put it back on?
