Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    eBay Strut bars

Hey I was thinking about getting a strut bar for my cb7. I don't want to spend too much on one so I was thinking about getting a cheap o' eBay one. They have several on there that are around 20-25 bucks. Are they any good?

I also noticed that there was different types like some with 2 holes and and others with 3. some where bent and others where straight. Which one is best if they are any good at all.

One was type R? Is that a good brand? I like the Megan Racing ones but they are a little too expensive..

And do I need to get the rear and lower? Or will just the upper front work for now?

    Thanks !

It really depends on how hard you are going to be driving the car..

I personally would recommend saving up for at least the Megan Racing Bars. I started with a Megan Racing Bars, front upper and rear upper. I got both of mine for just over $110 shipped. I have heard that there are cheaper ways of getting the same 2 bars. I have heard there is a company that sells the 2 bars in the same box for a lot less then what I paid.. I heard $75 Shipped.

Saving up for at least the Megan Racing Bars will not be something that you will regret IMO. Megan Racing is a reputable company on Ebay, their products are of good quality for the price.

I have since moved on from my Megan Racing Front upper to a Neuspeed 4-point bar up front. I couldn't be more in love with this bar. It is a SOLID bar all the way across, where as the Megan Racing bar is bolted together. You WILL be able to feel the benefit of the Megan bar compared to no bar at all. If you are looking to go auto-x your cb I would recommend saving up for either a Neuspeed Bar or looking into ESP on this site in the MEMBERS SHOPS section.. They offer 1 piece bars for both the front and rear uppers, even a 4 point rear..

Just remember, you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to buying cheap on ebay.. IMO it will save you money in the long run to save up for at least the Megan Bars.. Just my .02 though.. Later

an ebay one will do the job. i would weld some plates to make it more sturdy though. the way they're connected to the shock tower is very flimsy.

I just want some more stability mainly. I hate it when I go around a curve and it seems like the whole car goes on 2 wheels! there is way too much sway. I live in the mountains and it is really curvy. I went around a curve once and I was leaning so much I herd my muffler drag! I just want it to hang the curves better. I really like the Megan Racing bars but I wasn't sure if there was enough difference in the cheap eBay bars to pay 30 dollars extra.

And do I need both front and rear, or will the front be sufficient?

the rear you wont notice as much of a difference, because of the way the car is designed but it will still help. you can actually make your own rear upper. and if your car sways alot, sounds like u need new sway bars.
