ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    egr block off

i removed my egr and used one of those block off plates. can someone tell me how to fool the ecu to think that the egr is still there. some one told me to just put a resistor in the egr connector is that true.

i think u just plug it in like regular. your ecu just checks the valve to see if it is open or closed....did you get a cel?

You have to remove the egr place block off plate over the ports then replace egr on top of blockoff plate and bolt it all up. After that you plug the egr back in to its connector and you're all set.

Or you can run a chipped ecu that doesnt read egr so that you could totally eliminate the egr valve all together.

I have a chipped p28 that doesnt recognize egr so i got me a block off plate and ditched my egr, the little black box, and the charcoal canister..

enough to show a gain on the dino. the block off plate prevents exhaust gases entering the intake manifold, making it a bit colder. i would also get a bisi intake mani gasket, since that prevents heat tranfering to the intake manifold. those both gaskets make improvements.

Yah I have a intake gasket I was just wondering that the holes are so small on the egr if it transfers that much heat.

so getting a EGR block off plate will show like a 2 or 3hp gain or something?

Honestly its not enough to care about. Ive seen it used more in turbo cars. Read up on how an EGR works. Its there to help combust and burn a cleaner mixture (since goes through 2 times) during idle and cruise. You can seal it off but dont expect something you can feel.

i figured i wouldnt feel anything from doing it. it just seems as tho it would be more benifitial for the car. am i wrong?

Yah but also it degrades octane levels of the fuel for burning co2 levels higher than normal, plus intake temp has some play in it
