ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    o2 sensor stuck like cement

    Here's the thing. I got CEL code 1 - Faulty o2 sensor.

Now here's the freakin fun part.

After 4 hours of backbreaking task to pull out the effin o2 sensor, I still haven't pulled it out. 1 can of wd40 is already gone and still budge even for a lil tiny bit. I bang the shit out of it to break the seizure off. Still nothing. Used the o2 special socket , nothing. Long ass pipe , nothing. I'm trying to get it out on a hot temperature so it's much easier but no , it's a pain in the ass. It's the A1 exhaust manifold so it's kinda easy. I don't know if it's easier than the A4 or A6.

    Anyways , any advices?

use the socket and enough force to break it or loosen it.

or, just get another manifold and pipe

Socket just slips with enough force to breake it off.

Hmm , great reason to get an A4 manifold lol.. If it does not work out , then it's A4 manifold time.

I had that on my A1 manifold, my mechanic had to torch it loose

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

sounds like the socket is already cracked.

it's still good. The socket just slips off when I try to loosen the o2 sensor.

Good thing the o2 sensor still ain't stripped.

Tried to torch it a while still ain't off.. I might remove the pipe and torch the hell out of it.

ive see this happen before, i had to scrap a downpipe because of it.
i think what happens is the metel from the o2 sensor gets so hot that it welds itself to the downpipe.

try taking the downpipe off if you havent done that yet,
heat up the bung and break it loose on the bench

I'll try removing the pipe tomorrow. Hopefully I don't break any bolts off.

the o2 sensor tool is slipping? is it the deep socket kind? ive had the same luck with them, but i found this style to be much sturdier:

or if you dont care either way, break/cut off the o2 sensor and just use a 6-point 22mm(i think?) socket on it.

either one and a nice long breaker bar (18"+) and either it will come out, or something will break. those thin deep sockets always pop loose when trying to break em free.

its the a1 style manifold with the o2 up in the front right? it would be easier without removing the manifold, because installed, it doesnt move as you put force on it. and with the angle its at, if you point the breaker bar up straight, you can easily lean your body weight into it.

torch it, and while it is red hot spray on some penetrating lube (not wd40, that stuff doesn't work), let it cool, and then heat it up again, cut the wires, and just use a socket and a breaker bar, it should come out.....

I think it would be best to do this on the car like someone else said, on the bench it will move on ya....

Yes sir , I have a deep socket which are used for o2 sensors. I'll try that other socket you showed me.

Yes it's an a1 manifold right infront.

Thanks for your advices everyone. I'll keep you all updated.

hmm, i never had that much trouble with mine or my wifes cars. we both have accords, hers is 92 ex w/a6 and mine w/a1 and b1. i always used a combination wrench, used the boxed end till it broke loose, never had to use heat just did it while it was cold.

                              soak it with pb buster....

I'd try a wrench with a long as pipe over the end of it as a breaker bar, and i would use my leg/foot to push the bar while a friend holds the wrech in place with a rag so it doesnt slip off and strip. whenever i cant break a bolt loose by hand under the car, i use my leg strength
