Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

piston slap?

piston slap is caused because there is too much clearance(or just a rather large, not too much) between the pistons wall and the cylinder wall.Originally posted by riceraccordPiston slap is caused by worn bearings. Its bad
The noise becomes less apparent as the engine heats up because the piston starts to expand, decreasing that clearance.
Stock f22's don't have piston slap.
They have loud ass rockers tho.

usually only happens to motors which are overbored too much to run a certain sized piston.

actually stock F22's can and do have piston slap. as a matter of fact there is a bulletin on it @ work, stating that it is common on older 4 cyl engines to have it on cold morning starts where piston-to-cyl clearance is greatest, and almost all of the oil has drained into the pan.
they refer to it as "cold start knock" . but it does go away after 2-3 minutes of driving...F22a1-->F22A-->H22A-->auto-2-5spd-->K20 6spd-->F22C 6spd RWD-->4G63 6spd AWD-->K24 6spd????

thanks for the info... i did not know this..
Is there like a pre-lubricating system that is available for our engines because I had one installed on the Hummer when it was first purchased because I know it saves the life of the engine since it hardly ever gets drove.

uh...it lets your fuel pump prime up and get pressure for quicker and easier starting..cars start quicker on cold mornings when you do it....wont do anything for the piston slap thoughLast edited by spray_bombed; 10-03-2007, 10:50 PM.

ok .. that still don't help the initial start up when there is no oil built up already. that is the purpose of a preluber setup !Originally posted by 98vtechows that going to help anything? On colder days, just start the motor and let it warm up a bit before going anywhere.
not be an ass or anything but that has nothing to do with the oil system at all !! that is the issue at hand.... LUBRICATION !!Originally posted by spray_bombeduh...it lets your fuel pump prime up and get pressure for quicker and easier starting..cars start quicker on cold mornings when you do it
