ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    New guy

First of all i would like to say im amazed to see all the clean accords in this forum! ( maybe cuz i live in chicago ) My name is Francisco, im 18, and im new here. I never posted something before so this is still new to me. I have a 92 accord Lx 5spd with i/e.

Recently my motor has been giving me trouble and now its completely out of commission (Timing belt broke ) I looked around to see my options. It turns out the best route to take and its getting a h22 motor!

Option 1:Rebuild engine with another f22a1
    Engine block: $650
Other parts(pwr sterng, startr, alt): $200
    Labor: $650
    9% tax: $79

    Total= $1579

Option 2: H22a engine with ecu complete with all parts : $900
    9% tax: 81
    Labor: ????

    Total for engine= $981

I guess the best option is the h22a; cmon more power! but im goin to use my accord tranny, so ill save for the h22 tranny later. Im trying to learn about this swap so ill save you guys the dumb questions. For now.. this is my decision. Ill keep you guys posted. There goes my spring college tuition!

    First of all, welcome.
Second, pretty decent price for an h22. Is it jdm or usdm? Mileage?
Third, keep us all updated on your progress. Pic's, questions all of it can be done done or answered here.
    Good Luck

Umm, you snapped a T-belt and you need a new block? All damage from snapping a t-belt should be in the head unless it seriously messed up a piston. I snapped a T-belt in my first car and needed all new valves, valve guides, and all the other things that go along with that. All in all it cost me $500 or so. You really don't need all the other stuff, unless it all needs replaced already.

And for According_to_me tigerjapanese.com has just the h22 engine listed for $900, h22 engine and 5spd tranny for $1700, the h22 engine and 5spd lsd tranny for $2300, and the h22 typeS and 5spd tranny for $4000. I'm not sure how much it is the engine and an auto tranny is though.

I assumed since he said $900 as price he wasn't getting it online since there is shipping involved which usually isn't cheap.

OP, crack that beast open and check it out before you spend 2k+ on a swap. Might be able to salvage it. Unless you have cash burning a hole in your pocket. Go for the gold, I am sure we could always use another h22 swapped CB on the boards.

yea i keep forgetting details but theres a shop that specializes in jdm engines and he has a h22a (most likely jdm) lying around and that was his offer. i was going to ask for more details like the mileage n stuff but i was in a hurry.

but yea im tired of old guys in their taurus' SHOs beating me!

If it is just an h22a it is jdm, but if it has a number after the "a" (i.e. h22a1) it usdm, jdm engines do not have numbers after the 2nd letter.

Your calculations seem to be skewed heavily in the H22 direction... but it seems you're just looking for an excuse to swap
