ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    1. most b16 and b18 motors are not swapped into an accord because it is not a direct bolt in.

    2. also because the lower amount of torque that they have doesn't help move a heavy car like mine.

    3. if you have one of these motors and thats why you want to do a swap, i suggest selling it, and buying 1 of the many different swaps available.
because in the end we wouldn't be much help , when you have some sort of failure.

    4. it would be cheaper to do a dsm turbo setup than anything else for the best bang for the buck...

but if your a n/a fan,, the h22 is a great route to take.
    hope this was slightly helpful
Ya man, Thanks for the info.

I'm almost sure that I want to build the SOHC.

yeah......you can get a h22a for the price if not cheaper than a gsr or b18c it is. (both have lsd options)

and with a extra +20 hp and + 30 tq over it and just a easier swap process.

i want sum itr's to but, damn sum $800-1000 shipped is way high.

"got pay to play" i guess.

fogs are clear stock. there are really no "rice" fogs that are made just for the accord. the autozone fogs are rice, but the oem ones are absolute tits.

ok, i will re-phrase it. i am usually really accepting of a lot of things people do to their cars as they are "doig their own thing", but when they dont do it well and just throw it together, that is when it irks me. the same goes for foglights. i've seen some well-done autozone lights, but the VAST majority of cars that i have seen that have them, the fogs dont match the car at all and were just bolted ore even ziptied haphazardly to the bumper. that is what i am calling rice, not nessicarily all autozone fogs.

wow, so yeah now that it's calmed down again, all your new questions are already full-blown DIY's. The corners azn kid has are painted, as well as the headlights, this is all explained fully in a couple dif diy's in the normal exterior section. Basically you have to find clear colored paint, I know ppl who red-out the yellow part of the tailights use a clear model paint, so for the reflectors in the headlights and the lenses on the corners you would get a clear yellow or amber of whatever shade you wanted and coat the whole lens/reflector. You have to take the lights apart, which is done by putting them in the oven, look up the diy's for specific temps/times so you don't melt anything! These should be MUCH easier to find than your first topic lol...

as for lip styles, just go through some members ride thread's and pick what you like! I actually have a stock 93 bumper with a 5th gen typeR lip molded into one peice, more moderate than a kit but more aggressive than stock with smoother appearance than a lip simply bolted on. The Mugen spoon lip (like azn kid's) is a bit much, and if you haven't seen it in person, it's WAY bigger even in irl. The acura legend (coupe, the sedan lip is too short) lip is bigger than our stock lip, while still not sticking out like a sore thumb. There are a few others for our cars, and 5th gen lips fit with simply cutting the extra off the ends (about 2in per side).

Your civic is pretty well done and not over riced, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you know what you are doing.

Paul, thanks for keeping things under control. At least two members in this thread, if not 3, have you to thank for not being banned for a week.

TheChosenOne, even though I realize we've moved on from the B18C conversation, I should touch on one thing that wasn't mentioned in these 3 pages. Aside from custom mounts and axles, you'd have to either a) do some major floor surgery to the Accord to accommodate the rod shifters, as the Accord is set up for cables, or b) get an adapter to use the H/F transmission on the B motor (and since the B/D transmissions are considerably stronger, there's no point for such a thing to exist... so you'd have to create it).

As said by the more knowledgeable members here, the B18C WILL move the CB7. The lack of low end would make it slower off the line, but the B18C's peak torque is similar to the F22A. It wouldn't be as potent as in a Civic or Integra, but it would certainly work. Hell, a D15 would move a CB... slowly. A turbo D15 could be damn fast!

As for the SOHC build, it's a great idea. The F22A has a ton of potential. Look at HondaFan81's projects, and the 400hp NA drag F22 (carburetted) that Bisi Ezerioha runs in his Insight (Bisimoto.com).

Also check out my thread here:
                        http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=88154
If you get that LX, you'll be getting an F22A1... the bottom of the F22A line. 125hp. A good motor, but EASILY improved with stock F an H parts. A bit of headwork and an upgraded cam will make it just that much more fun!

If you decide to go turbo. the "DSM" turbo kits are simple to put together. I built a kit for about $600... never got to install it because I crashed the car the day I got the last part!

Finally, any H or F motor (aside from the S2000 motors) will be a fairly easy swap. Honestly, easier than a B series in a Civic.

Oh, and before I have to say it... the F22B1 (SOHC VTEC F22) is absolute garbage... Don't waste your time. It's not an upgrade. Don't be fooled by the VTEC hype!

alright im tired of all this f22b1 engine is crap shit. what do you have to prove that? Honestly!

the only thing that makes that statement true is that its worthless to swap it into the cb chassis other than that, you my friend are wrong!

so based on that deev, when are we going to the track? huh, huh?

You got it, Dom! My ailing H22 will whoop your F22B1's butt!

Honestly, I got my information from Bisi. The way the ports are shaped, they don't flow very well. The F22A head can be modified to flow as well as a B18C head... the F22B1 head, not so much. It's good for turbo, and that's about it (and I have yet to hear a good reason for that... other than the fact that just ANY motor can be made fast with turbo)

ive always liked the idea of swaping a f20c from a duece right into my cb. 240hp right out of the gate. i like that number.

the track record of the f22b1 is not as long-lived as the one for the f22a1/4/6 and the vtec is damn near pointless since a well tuned f22a1/4/6 can make as much power and get the same gas mileage. basically, it's a less reliable redesign with a few more things on it that may break. it was not an improvement and has proven to be less reliable, hence the reason it's been called garbage.
