ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Surging/Backfiring Accord

    I am having problems with my accord surging at times while trying to gain speed. If lightly put my foot on the gas it doesnt surge but if i try to go past 1/4 throttle it does this surging thru all gears.

    I had the hood up messing with it this morning and if i rev up the engine half throttle it sounds like it is backfiring

    It idles just fine so i dint think its the IAC Valve. but while driving it gets real jerky if I try to step on it.

    Any ideas on what this could be????

    What is the black box that is on the firewall below the chassis code that has vacuum lines going to it????I think that it has something to do with the problem

    * Check your SP wires to see if there are oil in it
    * Check your SP wires and the coil wire
    * Is it throwing a CEL?

    Other possibilities

    * Ignition coil malfunction
    * Not getting enough fuel
    * Malfunctioning fuel pump
    * Clogged fuel filter
    * Clogged fuel injectors
    * Code 1 ECU - O2 Sensor failure

      No oil in the SP holes but there was oil/shavings in #3 hole before i took it all apart this summer to replace the timing belt. Getting new wires tonight possibly an O2 senser as well.

      New Dizzy while apart.
      New Pump and filter last year.
      Brand new plugs.

          Sounds like a fuel filter problem to me. But idk for sure...Use some carb cleaner to clean inside your throttle plate too, clean out the IACV if possible as wellT

                All Better now

                Bad Distributer Cap The contact points inside the cap were not there causing no spark in #2 and #3

                New cap solved the problem and no more surging.

                No oil in the sparkplug holes....yet
