ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

It didn't run the best, but the H23 Prelude absolutely RAPED it. I am talking like 4 car lengths by 75 and pulling raped. And Ray KNOWS how to drive.

yeah, i hope you mean h22 head and h23 bottom end. But even so, like owequitit just said, you can modify the h22 to make up for its weak points and save the hassle.

The answer would be very similar times. With the H23 performing better in the low end, and the H22 in the top end.

                Assuming all else is equal.

i would really have to disagree with you on this and all the other posts about h23's being faster then h22's. I have had both h23a1 and h22a in my accord and i have time slips proving that the h22 was faster in the 60 foot, 330 feet, 1/8 mile, 1000 feet, and 1/4 mile. And my h22 isn't even running the best it should.

Sorry, but not based on what I have seen.

well just based on the results i have had at the track with both motors, the h22 is faster in everyway.

                        That's cool.

I have usually seen the H23 pull on the bottom and the H22 on top. Realistically, based on what I have seen, they are both pretty even. The H22 is not overwhelmingly powerful below 5500 but makes up for it in the top end. Whereas the H23 makes advantage of its displacement on the bottom, but doesn't pull as high.

                          My F22A1 has manual VTEC
I noticed that WOT and Just Behind WOT are the same power accept for loudness
So I JBWOT to 4800, then I WOT to 6300
I tell you, the ricers think I got somethin special

As for the H23 vs H22
The H23 is better for FI
Its an older style engine, but its fast

The H22 is the best of both worlds...
Fuel economy when you want it, racing when you want it.

i will agree with you on that. My numbers show that the h22 is just a little faster up to the 1/8th mile but after that the h23 has some catching up to do.

how isnt it is the question??? stronger than an h22 by far in stock form its built like a tank and its great for boosting even without modding and by using an h23 head you get the top end power = best of both world

                                I think you are mistaking.

In stock form, they are very similar strength, and the H22 has things like a shorter stroke, oil squirters etc, all which help reliability.

The ONLY real advantage the F22 has below 10PSI, is that it has an 8.8:1 compression instead of 10.0-11.0:1.

As far as crank/rods/bearings/etc, they are more or less equal. They both have cast pistons etc.

Oh, and even though the H22 has FRM sleeves (which aren't necessarily weak as much as finicky) it is also closed deck for all 1993-1995 engines, which isn't something I can say for the F22. So if you sleeve the H22, then the F really has no advantage.

But what if you don't want to boost? Then its advantages are pretty much moot.

Not to mention the fact that an H23 head in stock form on an F22 block in stock form is not going to have anywhere near the top end of the H22. It is still going to run out of air around 6K.
