ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Boy IT's cold OUTSIDE

So my car starts hard basically, it needs a main fuel relay I've come to the conclusion. But I'm not getting one unless I absolutely need one. My car runs fine and starts every time. But today it didn't start. Well it did start once, and me being who I am I had to turn it off just to see if it would start again. And it didn't. Would the cold weather, like 20 degrees or colder affect the MFR issue. I think it would, but dunno. Thanks.

It's typically heat, not cold, that affects the main relay. I would look elsewhere first.

do you have a fuel leak?

I had a fuel leak....upper injector o-ring seals and my car was very hesitant to start.

          just think...air/fuel/spark

limit these things out and you will find your problem. could be an ignitor or coil or distributor...caps can carbon track and cause hella problems.

I would think it is a spark issue for you though.

As someone has already said, MFR issues are typically hot weather related. When you say it doesn't want to start, does it turn over normally and not crank or does little to nothing happen when you turn the key?

The ignitor or main relay is most likely the issue. I had this happen to me 2 yrs ago, at 155K. But i live in AZ so that could have sped up the aging process a bit. But your problems are most likely related to those two things.

Your vehicle will be hard to start in the cold normally anyway. If you're already having issues with a faulty MFR, the cold won't aggravate that, but the combination of the two will make the vehicle very difficult to start. Think about it: hard starting condition + hard starting condition = really friggin' hard starting condition!
