ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    new here, got some Q's

Alright new to the Honda scene when it comes to modification, especially in the suspension department, I got a 1992 accord EX-R sedan, love it so far but the stock suspension as I am sure you all can agree... sucks. hehe. so what I want to do is of course do spring, shocks and possibly sway bars if I can find a good set, I know that its all personal preference for lowering height and ride, but my main worry is whats too low to when the tires start to bow out and basically make whatever tire I purchase last two months, so whats a happy balance between great handling and not getting excessive camber, toe or gimped alignment. Any help for whats a good product choice will be hugely appreciated as well, i.e spring, shock and sway bar brand and performance characteristics.

Also I will be getting a set of 17's in the spring so i don't want to can the car.

Thanks for your help and sorry if I'm beating a dead horse.

id probably go with a 1 1/2 inch drop....2inches tops. i have a 2 1/2 inch drop on my del sol with some 15's and they couldnt align my car all the way straight...if they did my tires wuld be rubbing on the fenders, but hey maybe the accord is different...im going with a 2inch drop on my accord

2.25 is a nice drop and all drops r going to give neg camber so i would suggest a camber it or they make tires that r made for neg camber

two and a quarter ain't gonna happen, lol thanks but my last car was canned and i hated the ride and i bottomed all the time. also anybody ever used suspension techniques stuff, like their sway bars? progress only has rear and ST has front and rear. any good or crap?

Thanks kit to lip for the suggestion but thats too low for me.

Check out my MR. I have a 1.25" and it'd practical. I can still navigate pretty rough streets , snow while having a dropped look. Don't think that negative camber's all that bad. I believe you can have one degree of leeway and still be in manufacturer's spec. I'm also on seventeens. Do a rear sway too.

There are some very good sway bars out there: Suspension Techniques, Intrax and Addco come to mind. As for a spring/strut combo, probably Eibach Sport or H&R would be good springs. They both offer about a 1½" drop. I'd go with something like Koni Yellows for struts to match them.

            Good luck and welcome!

My current set-up is not bad: Ground Control Coilovers w/ KYB AGX shocks, Progress camber blocks, 17's w/ BFG Gforce sport rubber, and in the future i'm looking to get a Progress rear sway bar (which is all you should ever need, if you get a front, you'll understeer too much), to update my Vigor rear sway currently. So far, i can adjust the height from bone stock to completely slammed, i'm probably lowered about 1.5-1.75 inches. The Ground Control's gives a really good ride for only being coilover sleeves, since they implent Eibach springs. but yeah thats what i have, took me awhile to get everything.

ST makes a front and rear swat bar, and sells them as a set. The only problem with the ST is the front will cause MORE understeer.

I am running the Progress rear sway bar with the stock front, and it handles like a dream. Also Progress makes the largest rear sway for the cb7's.

Spring/strut combos is all personal opinion. What counts the most is how low are you looking to go, and what kinda ride are you looking for.
