ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Speedo/S light malfunction

I have a 1991 Accord LX (auto), and the speedometer stopped working and the S light continues to blink while driving. I read Accordztech's technical write-up and found out that it is most likely a faulty speed sensor/pulsar. I know I should check my TCU/ECU codes to make sure, (i'll most like do that later on today or thursday ), but my question is if it is a defective speed sensor, is it something that HAS to be fixed right away to continue driving the car, or can i keep driving the car without doing any mechanical/electrical damage to my CB7?, Thank you in advance for all help;(This site is awesome man )

you can drive it all you want, but your mileage will be affected as the car is in "limp home" mode. I drove for a couple of months with a bad VSS no major problems to be had, but you should fix it as soon as you can.

I drove my car for a few days until I got mine fixed. The stupid blinking 's' drove me crazy, lol. The car didn't act any differently, though, so you should be fine.

yeah, your vehicle speed sensor died. most usually its the electrical sensor part of it, the ones you see all over ebay.

Is it an automatic or a manual? If they are manual, then its not going to have one. If they are automatic, the 's' light will be below the temp gauge, if I remember correctly.

The "S" (sport light) is only on the 90-91 automatic model, it helps the car accelarate quicker supposedly..., in the 92-93 model they have the D4 that blinks if there is a problem with the transmission. Thank you jhondayaaj for offering to help me , I've talked to blackCB7 about helping me do a wire tuck, I'll probably pass by his shop or that area some day soon, you guys are awesome and have awesomes rides.. .

i had the same exact problem.

just goto a junkyard with a 10mm socket with an extension and look directly below your throttle body, on top of your tranny for this:

dont unscrew those bolts that can be removed with a screw driver, only the hex

the speed sensor that is held down by 2/3 screws and pull out, and pocket that thing!

grab a couple to be safe.

I went and got one last year and it's been working flawless ever since, but i still get the S light, i just put a sticker over it :P
