Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    help.

    k so i changed, valve cover gaskets and the head gasket and put a 2 1/2 cat back exhaust and still using the stock down pipe and cat...

    now i ran the car today just idleing, and it died... then proceeded to re-start it wouldn't start gave it a break for about 20 mins went out and tapped on the starter with a screw driver, now the starter is working i know that... the car would not fire up... tried it again by tapping the ignition key to the starter and the starter would not stop trying to start even after i have removed the key so i disconnected the battery and thats where im at now.

    You need to be more specific with all this ghetto rigging you have done. Did you wire the starter up your self to the ignition? If so remove all of it especially if you didn't fuse it. After it first wouldn't start was the starter not working properly? Did you remove any of the engine wiring harness when you removed the head? We need as much info as we can get to help you out.

        when i re-placed the head gasket we didn't even pull the head out, we were able to lift it and slide old one out and new one in ...after the removal of the header, valve cover, 1 spark plug the head bolts the water pump the only wire that we screwed with were the 2 next to the distributor cap, and the o2 sensor, nothing was "ghetto rigged" as for the cat back exhaust that was bolt and play valve cover gasket is self explanitory... any way after all that stuff was done the car ran fine... when i bought the car it had trouble starting sometimes but now the starter just wants to stay on and i don't understand why... could it have to do with my ignition?

          your starter wants to stay on? wth? that's new to me ..well how does it indicate that it's on? Clicking? Engine Turn? It may be the Ignition issue that has happend to others that i know of on here. Any CEL codes?

            You changed the head gasket without removing the head?


            If the starter is constantly going, there's definitely something wrong with the wiring. It's getting power when it shouldn't. That would possibly be the ignition switch, or an issue with the wiring going to the starter itself (I don't see how that could be messed up, but who knows!)

              i have never seen anything like it...but if i keep the key out of the ignition and put the wires on the battery it just starts clicking wires meaning battery cables not the starter wires

                i just went out there, and i put the battery cable on and for a second my positive cable had sparked and then the starter started going at it... its almost like the car thinks that it is on and its not.

                  yeah ok...that's deffinitely an ignition wiring issue there that i've heard of...same symptons..though idk how to help. sorry.

                    how do i check if anything in my ignition is mest up? i can't start my car at all... right when i put the battery cables on the battery it sparks and the starter freaks out like the car is on.... hmmm....

                          i went out and put the terminals on the battery and the starter acted up, so i tapped on it and it quit now everything got normal, but the car still would not start... now i have a new question... if the the starter on my car is no good will it sound normal but still not turn my motor over? lately its been kind of a pain to get my car started so could a starter sound right but still be worthless and not start it... like teeth be chipped and not catching the flywheel? i like my car alot so i need to get over these little bullshit problems
