ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Exhaust piping question

I'm currently installing the Megan Racing header on my A1 engine. so i'm underneath my car trying to unbolt everything but having no luck since everything seems to be rusted out or heavily corroded.

i intend to get the WS2 to complete my exhaust i need help on which cat to buy, with all stock piping and manifold, my A1 had a 13 inch cat.

if i'm using the megan header/flex pipe and ending it with the WS2, should i get the 13" or 14"? isn't the 14" found on the EXs?

I have that EXACT same set up and I kept my OEM cat. It bolted up fine and is quiet as stock. (maybe barely louder)

    1 WK Overland....

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

goto your local auto parts store and look for something called "PB Blaster" it's a very strong lubricating spray that makes taking bolts off easy.

just get the same length cat you already had; bolt ons are made with stock specs in mind.

So apexi designed their catback to fit from your cat and on, and megan designed their header to fit before your cat.

yeah get PB blaster, it might be good to work on the exhaust when its warm since the bolts/nuts will come off easier.

just get the 20$ test pipe of ebay so u dont got ur stock shit slowin u down.. thats how mine was i have an obx header and greddy evo2 catback.. and i was runnin the stock cat. but dude 20$ for a high flow cat is a good deal. only makes it a little bit louder just enough to notice a slight difference but its not to raspy or anything like that

Well instead of unbolting everything, i just removed the rubber hangers and took everything from the factory flexpipe all the way back to the resonator off in one long section. it was rather hilarious when it all came out.

              alright so 13" it is..

If your having a problem with the nuts on the cat, and you have stripped them, take a size smaller IMPACT ONLY socket, and hammer that shit on there... take an IMPACT gun to it, and remove it. When you put everything back together, take some HIGH HEAT GREASE, and put it on the studs. Also get some stainless steel nuts to put back on, as you shouldnt reuse the old one. If i remember correctly the A1's had a 14 inch cat. the 13's were for the A4, and A6 as they had quieter headers, the cat didnt need to be so big for noise dampening.
