Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

f22b swap into a 91 accord lx...

    f22b swap into a 91 accord lx...

    I want 2 swap a f22b SOHC V-tec into my 91 accord.. Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this swap?

    It's very similar to the H22A swap.


    Honestly, doing the F22B1 swap is an absolutely terrible idea. The motor is garbage.

      f22b is not a sohc i got a f22b it is a dohc

        He means the F22B1. F22B SOHC VTEC is sufficient to explain which engine he means... there's no need to split hairs.


        But yes, the F22B (no number) is a JDM DOHC engine, very similar to the H23. THAT F22B would be a smarter swap, as it's a much better design, makes 160hp, has two cams, and only costs about $800. It came from the Japanese Prelude Si (the model that we got the H23 in)

        The SOHC VTEC F22B1 is trash. The head flows poorly, it only makes 5hp more than the F22A6, and... well... it sucks. Plus, anyone who knows the potential of the F22A (which is significant) will ALWAYS ask why you wasted your money on the F22B1.

                    F22B2 is the non-vtec version of the SOHC F22B. I'm not too knowledgeable about how well that head flows, but it's not a popular motor. It makes 130hp, which is 10 LESS than the CB7's F22A6, so there's absolutely no point in ever getting it.

                        You should be able to pick up another F22A from just about any junkyard for the same money as an F22B1. The only reason to put an F22B1 into a CB7 is because somebody gave it to you for free and you desperately needed it for a daily driver.

                            Someone on this site has the f22b swap and he went turbo, and is making nice numbers, unfortunately I don't remember his name.
