CB7 Auto Tranny on Type S Engine

Hi. Will my cb7 auto tranny be alright to use on a type s engine? Will it cause any problems? It'll just be temporary till i get a h22 or h23 tranny.

H and F trannys are interchangeable. Also you have to remember in the last week or so, there have been 3 threads like this, please use the search button.

Thanks man. I know they're interchangeable i just wanted to know how the engine would work with the tranny. Will it still be fast and stuff like that.

It will be faster than your F22 duh lol

Dude its just temporary till i can find h22 or h23 tranny with lsd. I just wanted to know if it would do any damage to the engine or if would still be quick, of course not quicker than with h22 tranny but still quick. Didn't i read somewhere in this forum that it would be better to boost with f22 tranny due to the long gearing.

It'll be quicker but you'll be feeling no where near the full potential of the type s H22

Thanks Keeles and Chris. The thing is i got my licence in auto here in australia, i just wanted to start driving as soon as possible and until i get my full licence around march next year i cant drive a manual. But once i do im converting to manual. My old man can teach me we used to live in eaurope before we came here so he's got a lot of manual experience.

ok when your talking about Type S. do you mean h22 type s or k20 type s?

cus at first i thought you were thinking k20. and i was like no h or f tranny will fit.

but yea any f or h series tranny fits in a h22. go with the h22 or h23 tranny for shorter gear ratio.
