ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Performance isues!

My 93 has issues. i get horrible fuel mileage, my car is a snail compared to a stock 93 and i cant get it to rev higher than 5000rpm. well it will spike at like 5500 and then drop slowly. anyone have ideas?

A few people have had this problem lately. One solution was to replace the igniter in the distributor. It's an easy process (I always have a few on hand, just in case... easily pocketable at a junkyard!)

Another is to make sure your ignition timing isn't way off. Also easy to do if you have access to a timing light.

Your valve timing may be off a good deal as well. Have you done the timing belt recently? It may not be set properly, or improper tension could've caused it to skip.

Is your check engine light on? The ECU will often go into "limp mode" if that's on.

Finally, make sure your spark plugs aren't covered in oil.

Well i just did some new spark stuff. plugs and cap n rotor. there was oil all inside the plug wells but i cleaned it out. i will check my tinning marks to see if the belt skipped. the check engine light comes on every now and then but goes away if i restart the car.

If there was oil on the plugs before, it's probably there again. You need to change the seals to prevent that from happening. That could be your solution right there!

well just because you cleaned them off and still no power doesn't mean that the oil is still in the sparkplug hole. There has to be an 02 sensor. If its a dx or lx its on top of the exhaust manifold but since you can't see it it has to be an ex and the ex 02 sensors are located right in front of the cat convertor.

to reiterate what Deevs said, replace your valve cover gasket set, this will include four rubber O Rings. Also, if the going gets rough with your oil problem, replace the lower O rings, by following this DIY:
              http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...lug+tube+seals (no pics, sorry )
I know this won't fix your problem you originally asked about, but it will prevent you from eventually having a cylinder misfire, or in an extremely worse case scenario, burning up all your oil and seizing your engine.

              ^^click it or ticket^^
