ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Header question, pipe location

Since i have AC in my cb, and i have a header on there already, im sick of it, it keeps leaking, and im having nothing but problems. Ive decided when i get some spare cash, im going to buy an oBX header off ebay. Its ceramic coated and comes with the downpipe. My question is the following, when purchasing a header, it should be 1-4-2-3 correct? meaning 1-4 go in outlet 1, and 2-3 go into outlet 2. Im sick of the bent over ac line, so im going to fix this permanantly.

Here is the link, specifically for viewing the product to make sure its the right one.

    thanks.

if it leaks it might not be the header it self but, the gaskets.

did you put gasket sealer on it????

did you let the gakset sealer set before you started the car???

i would 1st use new gaskets then redo it with sealer then if all fails.
    buy a new one. gl

They're both fairly cheap in terms of quality. I do prefer Megan myself though.

There are 2 types of header designs. 4-2-1, and 4-1. Both will work. the first is better for low-end power, the last for high end. With the dinky collectors on either, it won't matter much.

Most cheapies are 4-2-1 anyway (which is what you were trying to describe)

I would say try and find a DC header, they're MUCH better quality, I've had mine since May 2005 on there w/ the same gasket, and there are NO leaks and the welds aren't cracking or anything like those ebay ones do. I paid 225 off ebay for my ceramic coated header. It's well worth it man, just picture how many times you've tried to fix your header by taking it all apart just to replace that gasket in there...no one paid you to do that right? So get a DC and have no hassle.

I honestly like the stock EX header myself. Everyone's talking about how such and such header lasted them 2 years. The stock ones have lasted 15+ years. You can't match Honda quality. Not sure if yours can be fixed, but whatever you like you should get. That ebay one should work.

The stock EX header (the tubular F22A4 design) is a very good piece. The primaries are a bit more narrow than the aftermarket ones, I believe, but that makes for a bit more low-end power. The F22A exhaust ports are fairly restrictive in stock form (they can do well with some porting) so the narrow runners of the stock header aren't a major drawback.

DC is decent quality, I'll agree. However, the power those headers make generally don't justify the extra cost over Megan and OBX (and I believe OBX is even CARB exempt, for the CA guys)

OBX/Megan are great for the price. They aren't amazing performers, but not significantly worse than the DC. The best thing to do is have some headwork done, and shell out the dough for a Bisimoto header (which should be available soon). The Bisimoto header will be the ONLY F22A header to make any significant power.

I bought this header on Ebay and it turned out to be a Megan Header... I dunno if they just sell whatever the cheapest header is at the time, but it's quite decent quality for the price IMO.

I believe HondaFan81 is running a Kamikaze 4-1 header on his Red Project and he stated the quality is sub-par.
