    EDM/JDM blackhouse help

Hey everyone, I'm posting this on every forum I'm on so I can hopefully get some input. My car was recently f'd over in the front end by an old lady so I got some new parts. Anyways, I picked up some EDM headlights from Velo, these take an H1 bulb for the high beam and an h4/9003 for the low beam. This is all fine and dandy, I ordered up the jumper harness from password:jdm and those should be here soon.

The problem that I'm running into is that because they're not us spec, they are like a lot of cars with a single bulb setup. That's to say, they have a rubber doughnut that fits on the back where the socket is to keep moisture out. (supposed to have anyways) This is as opposed to the rubber seal being on the bulb itself.

Basically what I'm asking is if there's anyone out there with EDM, or JDM, blackhoused lights that have these rubber pieces and if so, where did they get them...I'm assuming someone out there got them without the rubber seals....

I tried searching on the internet and I found places that sell them, but after looking at my mother in laws Toyota Echo, I realize they're not all the same size (the doughnut that is) I'm going to check the wife's MPV and see if they're a more appropriate fit too.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Now to answer any questions in advance, these headlights have a fluted lens instead of clear, they're also independently adjustable both horizontal and vertical for both high and low beam. Yes they're blackhoused I'll take some pics and post them soon.

dude. go to the junkyard. any car with an h4 bulb should have them.
my 99 civic has them, and they are in easy find.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the big rubber cap that is used to keep moisture out...not the socket itself. I will check to see if my jy has any, but I know its not a universal part. I just pulled one off of an Echo and its got a bigger diameter than the one that is on the Accord.

edit: I think I see what you're saying now...Ryderz, could you do me a favor? pull that black rubber boot off and measure the inside diameter of it. Where it meets up with the back of the lamp...or, measure the outside diamter of the back of the lamp where the rubber boot slips on...that way I know if they are the same size. Cause I can get em from Majestic for like $5 a piece if I can't find em in a jy.

That doesn't look quite right. Here's a link to majestic. This is from a 95 odyssey and the item no. 4 is the part i'm looking at. I'm guessing (hoping) that being a honda, it'd be the size I need.

With the list price only being seven and some change, I would probably just grab one from a local dealership new, and give it a try.

I'm at work now, but I will measure when i get home
at 6pm. If you haven't found your answer by them.
I'm pretty certain they are standard. And because they
are rubber, you can just make little slits if need be to
make them work for you. I'd pick up a new set
                and try em out.

                      ?? Huh?

Anyways, called the local dealer (which is a half hour away) and they'd have to order them up. That's the first problem. The second problem I ran into was looking on Majestic, that there is at least two different model numbers for different years that have this rubber boot. The first gen odysseys have a rubber boot that shares the same model no. as the 99 civic...I know the odyssey light is relatively the same size, so I'm hoping this one will work.

                      Thanks in advance Ryderz

So far, just on Majestic, I've found 5 cars that have different model numbers for the same thing...I'll try and get to the jy tomorrow...

No problem mang. I'm telling you. The one from the odessey and civic
will fit. If they don't then WTF. The back of the housing can't be
to much of a difference. And like I said, use a box cutter if you have to,
and make some slits in it. Or you brute force, and scretch that bitch
                        on there.

It was raining by the time I got home, so I wasn't able to
                        measure it for you.
