Damn, makes me wish we were in Canada, that crap cost me a fortune, and it isn't even my kid. Anyway, broke is broke, doesn't matter how you get there haha.

Got a JDM hood today in black, excellent condition and is HAS the insulation under it I talked about. I will get a pic tomorrow so you guys can see the damages.
Should really start a diff thread I guess, keep this for my brakes lol, I miss my MRT!

No updates on the brakes, other than that they keep getting worse slowly. Quite likely I end up doing all the body work before I get to the brakes and that wont be for at least two weeks.

My brakes were a bloody mess for a full year before I finally changed them. One of the calipers was pretty much frozen, and the rotors were all torn up. I slapped in a set of the cheapest brake pads I could find, so it would pass inspection, and left it be until I was ready to do the clutch.

Hood insulation? To keep the heat in?

I think it's to reduce the noise from the engine. A lot of new cars have it, along with sound insulation around the firewall.

wtf, I want that shit. Too bad I have a CF hood. I wonder which setup is louder? And if I could add insulation to my current hood?

It's really nice, keeps the underside clean. I am dying to take a pic of it but I had to tie down my hood because it wont lock. Once I get things straightened out I will.

Velo I would look into the Dynamat products. They have an underhood insulation that would be far more functional as far as noise/heat absorption. Heavier tho .

And I would say your set up is louder because you have the H lol.

                    Help needed guys.

Got my V6 calipers today and looking at them. One of the brackets says 28L on it and the other one says 23T? I am supposed to have 25T brackets correct? Do I have to take these back asap?

Seems to be some debate on this. All I can tell you is I had one 23T and one 25T. The 25T fit very nicely, the 23T was hitting the inside of the rotor. I used a couple of washers to get it to clear *just* enough to drive it, while I awaited a replacement 25T bracket.

25T is supposed to go with 25mm rotors, 28T for 28mm but it really doesnt matter for performance or anything relevant. Just make sure it's the same or larger i.e. 28T with 25mm or even 23mm rotors will perform exactly the same.

Well my rotors are 25mm and what the hell is a 28L bracket?

The other is a 23T so thats no good for me.

                          Calling them now.

....k the guy says because it's a casting number theres no way to verify for sure? Sounds like BS to me.

I've seen and used a couple in person and they definitively have a "T" on them. Dunno wtf "L" is.

Yeah, what the hell does L mean?!

25T brackets are are the wagon/V6 calipers. They mixed up the brackets, man.

Call them back and raise hell.

Raise hell I did lol. The guy argued with me for soo long and had the lamest excuses in the world. I returned them and walked out really pissed off.

How can you sell someone calipers with different brackets when one side wont even clear my rotor lol? This is a huge safety issue!

The parts guy tried to BS me in so many ways until I just called him a dumbass. I figure the re manufacturer just throws whatever brackets on them and boxes em

Caliper search is back on now grrrrrr.
