How thick is that plywood? How much thicker than the factory floor-piece is it?
Ive contemplated doing this myself. Not that mine is falling apart, but that "stuff" under there is really good at aging and soaking up water..need something a little stronger, thicker and sturdier.
I thought about doing this too. Mine got all warped and crappy from moisture damage, so I deleted it.
If I make my own, though, I think I will use acrylic or some other water-proof material, instead of wood or the like.
Also, instead of a handle, I would just cut out a little handle-shaped hole instead, to grab it with, that way you don't have to worry about the handle sticking up; plus it doesn't look oem.
But kudos to you on making one, man! I need one too. I'm sick of putting stuff in my saggy floorless trunk.
Looks pretty good. I redid my floor with fiber board stuff like OEM uses but put 3 hinges and then a little aluminum bar underneath to help support my sub. I think you will like the hole idea that others said because it will let you put more stuff in the trunk without the handle sticking up. The plywood should be a little stronger than stock also.
Not bad for a replacement... I agree that handle will get in the way though.
Personally, I pulled my warped crappy piece out along with the spare and jack... I got AAA and there's no way I'd be able to get those wheels off without some good tools the way they rust to the hubs... also saves a good 40 lbs and significantly increases the trunk space.

I payed 55 dollars for a brand new fiber board floor. I still cant find oem carpet to fit the back of the seat and trunk
why you pay 55 dollars. i paid like 10 bucks for the wood and simply traced the shape onto the plywood and cut with a jigsaw. took me like 10 minutes to do. i then found some left over berber carpet in my basement and did the same for my rug.
goodluck in looking though i guess.
plus the nice thing about using thicker plywood is that you can screw a amplifier to it for your stereo, which is what i did.

I've had a plywood floor with trap door for years... Between the air suspension, and the stereo, the stock floor wouldnt have cut it...
