Painting black trim

I got side swiped this morning on my way to work and had to hit the j.y for at least my front door looks alright but it's missing the white painted trim ... How can I match it to the rest of the car do I need to scuff it as if I was to paint the body Or can I rattle can it ( paint can ) it and try to seal it some how, it looks like the rest of the black trim the paint over layed on the trim
Is glossy yet my car is mixed with dul peices like no clear and some with just want to attempt to make it alright
Any ideas thanks
