    Custom HVAC gauge mount

I started to make a new gauge mount for my project wagon. Since it wont have any of the HVAC system anymore, I figured this would fill that hole nicely.

Now I just got to figure out if I want 3 gauges with 2 switches or 4 gauges with no switches. What do you think?

To fill the hole with gauges where the heater/AC (HVAC) controls was. I deleted all the heater/AC from under the dash to save weight since it didnt work anyway. The wagon is not stock under the hood BTW so I needed more gauges.

I get that you deleted stuff. Just wondering what gauges and/or switches are going in. oil pressure? Fuel pressure? Temperature? Boost? nirous? under glow? Ice cream truck music? Oil slick? Smoke screen?

Oil psi, oil temp, water temp, fuel psi, volts, boost/vac and wide band. The switches could be for the fan, fuel pump, main ignition, N2O or lighting. Not sure on the what switches yet. The ice cream truck music would be a nice tho but It would make me hungry. Lol

I would have kept the heater assembly unless the car is now gutted as much as possible due to weight. Half way gutting is kinda pointless to me, the only thing i'd keep would be the dash.

The heater never worked and the AC is long gone. So I am gutting the dash and anything behind it as much a I can to save weight/space. I am relocating all the brake/clutch/fuel lines and wiring/fuse box to the inside of the fire wall.

I could see relocating the HVAC on top of the dash. And putting guages there. But deleting it completely I am not so sure about but if it is tracked and say a summer vic. More power to you!!! I will be keeping an eye on this thread.

Its just a weekend cruiser at most and some track. It will never see rain or any cold weather, only sunny summer days. It will become a full time track car later down the road tho.

I when ahead and went with the 3 gauges and 2 switches. Heres the mostly finished setup.

Heres a mock up on how itll look. Dont mind the color of the bezel, Its just for mock up.

This is why I began this project wagon. Its a father daughter project car.

What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
