that is tru.... i had little pieces on my rear glasss and went out last night to see if it works. i just put some on a towel and then it rubbed off real quick. but be very careful with it unless if you dont like the color of your interior because it would be very hard to get out if you can

i just did this 2 days ago. i bought some spray on paint stripper at my job. sure u gatta use it in a ventilated area and use gloves cuz after it starts working it will burn, but if done right ull have ur tints of in 15 mins or less i did half the car in 2 days using the conventional method with the razor blade, then bought that shit and did the back window the front windshield strip and both interior windows in like 10 min flat...!! and no glue residue at all. it just slides of completely, and whole.

            removing window tint?

ive read on some other forums that people peel what they can and then use brake fluid, also heard of them wetting a grbage bag putting it on the tint and facing it towards the sun, but has anyone ever tried a steamer?

i'll try a heat gun on my back windows...i was scraping for a good 15mins on each window to make sure the glue was off

when i removed mine i just peeled with an exacto blade...the side windows were easy but the back window was a BITCH, came off in tiny pieces and left soooo much glue which i ended up having to let the guys at the tint place get off themselves...use pure ammonia to get the glue off and low grade steel wool is supposed to help but i didnt find it too useful

The shop that put my tint on said they use a steamer to get the old tint off. they said its really easy cause the steamer helps melt the glue. Just be patient and dont scratch the glass or mess up the rear defrost.

Would the ghetto solution i jsut thought up work? Put the heat on HIGH, and put it on the back window only (thats the window i want to remove the tint). Do this on a hot summer day, with the windows all the way up. Put the A/C on as well with the heat. Go in there and hope i dont melt, and scrape it off?

i removed the tint on my eg hatch, i recomend using a razor blade to peel the film off. to remove the glue mix water and ammonia maybe 70% water-30% ammonia. Remove the door pannels, spray the glue down with the solution you made (do this in a well ventelated area) and take a fresh razor blade and scrape off the glue. after yo have thoughrly scraped the window take fine steel wool and scrub the window down. just clean with glass cleaner and papertowls or newspaper and you are golden. i perfer newspaper, it doesnt streak.

Note: do not use the razor blade on the rear window, you will damage the rear defroster. it is ok to use fine steel wool on the rear window (gently).

                          good luck!

what you have to do is make sure the day is hot and park it in the sun, and get a piece of plastic about the size of the widow, and from the outside, spray water with soap on the window and then put the piece of lastic, or clear trash bag over the water, and let it sit for a couple of hours then come back and the tint should come right off real easy with out messing up the defoster lines

get it done by a trained professional.
