    Fiberglass whole car

I was thinking about weight reduction and what else major could be done. Forget scraping tar off. We all know about CF or fiberglass hoods and even trunks now. And there are some fenders available in fiberglass. But what about my heavy ass doors and roof? Is it reasonably possible for someone to mold me new doors in fiberglass? My 2 doors feal like there gonna break the hinges they're so heavy. If I could lose 25lbs+ on each that would be killer. And what about the roof? I have no knowledge of body work like this, I was just thinking.

looks nice and all.. but if you get into a serious accident.. your car is gonna end up in crumbs.. which would look funny..

Why do you want a weight reduction? Are you racing your car? If you are stuck on getting fiberglass doors, you will also need a protective roll cage, since the doors and other fiberglass body components offer no strength for crash safety and structure. Also, forget about driving your car on public roads...

If it were to ever be done, it would be VERY expensive. Speaking of weight reduction, you see the all CF prelude in this month's super street? Looks pretty sick!

There's more to it than crash protection..but I see you could care less about the differnt components which are needed to go along with fiberglass body compponents.... I don't know why I even responded with info in the first place

well, your info was good, but you seemed negative about even talking about the subject. so his responce seems to be in defense to your post. but whatever, i could be wrong.
I........love my car. Simple as that.

Yeah, that all-CF Prelude looked pretty good. He's got ind TB's too.
Insurance? The car is pretty much worthless as far as insurance money is concerned.
Jeez, I can't post a simple question without everyone getting so serious or asshole like.

yah ive really been thinking bout cf or fiberglass doors also, and ik for safety issues a rollcage would be a must, but you would most likely be right back at your initial weight with the stock doors

-ps. oh yah that prelude is sick and comes together really well
