Dont try until you spend some time at a bodyshop and learn simple techniques and tricks, especially when it comes to sanding. Yes sanding, sounds simple enough, but if you want the body to be completly straight, you WILL need to learn alot of sanding techniques. Ive been doing it for a while and still havent got anywhere close to my mentors quality or speed.
On the primer, dont get the cheapest you find...the kind on my car, cant remember the name, but its a sandable/fillable primer (yellow), you will also need a quality spray gun, topload are the best.
Remember: IT WILL TAKE ALOT OF TIME, probably more than you expect. And sand sand sand...it also helps to use air sanders/grinders to ruff out the bodylines of the car, then use paintsticks and sandpaper after.

Look at everything shaved on my car and on AccordLayin'Kit.. you will see it takes a really long time to get everything smoothed out and done properly. If you're shaving anything, I just hope you know how to weld. Anyways, good luck with your project and I hope it works out for you!

well. i have spent some time aroudn my friends uncles body shop so i know some. i was just askin if those of you who did it yourself ran into any difficultys or anything like that? body work is easy for me and painting will be a sinch. we will just be doing it a little at a time.

i plan on strarting with the hood and trunk then moving to the roof and then down the sides
