    Fixing Chrome Trim

Well I have two problems with my chrome trim, neither is really a major eyesore. However, I would like it to look perfect.

On the driver's side door the trim is dented in a few times.

on the back window the trim has a little rust spot. It isn't rusted through but the rust color is there.

My question is, does anybody know how to fix either of these things with the trim?

Ok. For the rusted one, just grab your dremel and the polishing kit. Apply some jewler's rouge (in the polishing kit) to a large cotton head....polish that rust away. If that doesn't do it, use the polishing kit's wire brush. It will change the appearance of the surface, but you can polish that out.

For the dented one, you'll have to remove the chrome trim. It's probably easiest to replace it. If you need a replacement piece, I can get you one. Otherwise, try tapping it out with a hammer and punch. Careful though, make sure you do it on foam or some laundry for cushion, and with light taps.

      thanks for the info

only prob is I don't have a dremmel, could a fine grit sand paper do?

I'm going to try and hammer out the trim this week, so I will get at you on whether or not I need that piece.

btw: when removing them...you might have to remove the glass. you rock it forward and backward while pulling up. it's a pain, and you might have to break some plastic clips.

On the front doors there are screws in the front.
