Need some help lip and intercooler fitting

Heres a pic of my intercooler. We had to cut the bottom off the bumper as you can see. Now my question is since the intercooler hangs a few inches lower than the OEM bumper is there an aftermarket lip or bumper that will fit with this intercooler like it is? Thanks for the help

Did you cut the bumper support or is it right under it?

You can cut into the bumper support to make that intercooler fit. yea, it won't be as strong as it should be, but it's a sacrifice you sometimes have to make.

you should have definitly cut the support...they dont do much of anything after 5mph anyway.

As for your real question..no, i dont think any lip is going to fit. most of them attach to the underside of the bumper, which you no longer have.

          you live and you learn.

chan (f20aaccordturbo), sliced his bumper support about 2" to fit his intercooler, he even used it under my recommendation to bolt his intercooler to the support also.

to the OP: based on the size of your IC, i'm thinkin a 91-93 legend coupe lip could solve the problem since it only mounts up to the sides..

No, im not kidding. Thats why they are called "5mph bumpers", they are only there to protect the hood/fenders/headlights/etc in a low speed "Accident". once the crumple zones buckle, your bumper isnt doing a whole lot.

A 10mph crash, in a 3000lbs car exerts 5 TONS of force on the impact location.

                  Do the math.

                    They're not strong at all.

My brother was trying to start my car once. It was his first time trying to start an manual and I always leave the car in gear. He pushed in the clutch, started it and then let go of it without taking it out of gear.

My moms van with metal bumpers was 1 foot in front of the car. The bumper cracked, as did the bumper support.

We might be talking about different things here since Canada has more stringent impact standards.

Any lip will fit. That's not the problem.

The problem is that where is it going to bolt/screw on to if there's nothing to screw on to in the middle? It's going to hang quite a it.
