INT headliner handles

Not sure exactly what theyre called; "Oh shit handles", i dunno, lol.

There are 2 kinds that ive seen so far. Im guessing they are 9091 and 9293.

The 9091s look like this(thanks whutface):


And the 9293s are actual handles that sit away from the headliner. I couldnt find a pic, but im sure theyre out there.

My question is, has anyone seen this difference in DX/LX/EX and does anyone know how hard it is to swap them, if at all? I actually like the 9091s better than my 9293s.

me too, i like the 90/91. I have replaced ones on my 92 ex but never messed with the ones on the 90/91. I will check ouut ones for the 90/91 the next time i go to the jy and see if its possible.

Good deal, Dean. I dont get to the JY often, and when i do, i cant remember the last time i saw those in a 9091, which leads me to believe theyre trim-specific. Whutface is 91 LX, so i know that, lol.

Ill look more into it, but so far ive come up empty handed.

you know what, you might be right about being trim specific because Im more than sure that my old 93 lx had those handles

good question. Dont know the answer but how hard was it to remove the headliner after you removed the handles, dome light, and sunvisors? Did it just slip out?

i helped to swap interiors on a buddy's cb9 and the headliner and stuff was a breeze

ummm, i believe those handles are kind of confussing, I have a 93 10TH AE with those handles and i have a 93 EX with the other kind, that sits on the headliner. I am pretty sure cause i was thinking of changing the tan color from my ex to the 10Th AE and the are different.

Well the 10th AE is an LX with a few more extras, a friend of mine has the SE and it has the same handles as my EX.

DX and LX have the same type of handles.

Mike, my handles look like the 9091s you posted and my car is a 92....

Maybe that's because its a DX? I have no idea. The only handles I've ever seen are the ones in the pic you put up.

Well I've owned two Arcadia Green coupes and My 93 Lx had the handles in the pic but my 92 Ex has the outward facing handles. I like the handles in the pic better.

ok, that confirms that all DX/LX trimmed carries the handles above(which I like) and the EXs get the outward ones

I agree Dean. I mean, i dont mind having something sticking out, ready to grab ahold of, but they just dont look right IMO. I like the other ones cuz they sit flush with the headliner.

Can someome please tell me how in the hell you remove these things? I have a 91 lx, and i want to replace my headliner soon, and i was looking at what i would need to do, and the little hook that you would put a clothes hanger on, has a little cover that pops out to get to the screw, but on the grab handlez there is no cover for a screw?!?!
