I did try searching but couldn't find my answer. I bought a 90-91 armrest off Ebay. It's one of those ones that bolts over the rear console part. The thing is my console is wider than the armrest width and my ebrake is in the middle. Did I buy the wrong armrest?? My cb7 is a '91 EXR from Canada.

i have a 90-91 armrest i put the armres all the way down drilled into the carpet
it sorta lock right in then u drill then to make it extra sturdy the 90-91 armrest have a hole that u can get screws and put them into the console where the ebrake is but that all i did wasnt to hard unless u have a wierd armrest but ti think they will be the same then wagon armrest are all one piece i believe unless that is for the 92 93 ones but the 90-91 is just two metal piece with a plastic covering with the console on top

I have the 90-91 armrest, but i can't put it over top of the middle piece. It won't fit. It's like the middle piece is too wide. I don't think I have the right skinny middle piece. My accord is a '91 though. I'm going to try to take off the metal bracket from the armrest, then it might fit over.

Here is your problem
Ok here is your problem. You have a 90-91 Accord but from what i've seen looking at different euro and canadian models, the Euro and "some" candian versions have different rear center consoles sections.Originally posted by GenkiI have the 90-91 armrest, but i can't put it over top of the middle piece. The consoles on these euro ones look like whats found stock on a US wagon accord. On these Accords the E-brake is located directly in the middle and not on the passenger seat side. This is the reason why your console isn't fitting! it's not because of your auto seatbelts etc.
The console I imagine you have are found in euro accords and US wagons and are as wide as the 92-93 stock rear console sections. There is no room for these to bolt on without modification! Your only solution would to convert to a U.S. 90-91 spec rear center console which is that thin skinny piece that only houses the e-brake....only they this will bolt on. The reason being the armrest you bought was for 90-91 accords which didn't come with an armrest built onto the drivers side seat.
The other solution would be to just sell your armrest console and pray to the JDM/EDM gods and get an even better JDM CB wagon or European optional spec center console. In my opinion these look waay much better and cleaner. They look and function exactly like what comes stock in a EK or DC civic. They function as a armrest and storage compartment.....but what you have is a very rare piece as well and i would hold onto it! Just convert the rear e-brake console section to bolt the baby up!
I wish i had pictures to show you but i'm 110% sure that is the reason. I had this console b4 and sold it to Fizzbob waay back in the day and opted for a jdm console/storage armrest. I didn't like the fact I couldn't put optional jdm buttons with the 90-91 rear section and the bare carpet showing.

Yes!!! That's the explaination I been waiting to hear. I knew something about my accord was different. That jdm/wagon armrest would be awesome to have, but unfortunately armrests in general are hard to come by. I'm thankful I even have this one. The armrest is the exact same color as my interior too. I'm going to try to make this one fit some how and hope it looks alright. If I convert my rear center console piece to the skinny one, would I have to do anything to the ebrake position or does it stay in the same place? Can someone get me a skinny burgandy rear center console piece??

I don't remember if I re-positioned my '92 e-brake to bolt on the '91 armrest piece....but I did move it when I put the jdm wagon console armrest. You can easily see where to move the e-brake & cable assembly over a little coz there are holes in this one bracket where u can relocate these bolts so align the position of the e-brake to the middle or left/right etc.Originally posted by GenkiYes!!! I dunno but try e-bay for your skinny rear piece. I don't recommend modifying the armrest or hackin ur current console to get it to fit right....it'll look tacky! Good Luck!

The different Consoles for our CB's + add-ons
YESSS!! CDM,EDM, & JDM! =) Oh I have to find my pictures but...yeah there are 4 different consoles for our cars. and two console addons.
#1 90-91 Accord Console (skinny console with e-brake housing) "Almost the same as a Type-R armrest delete"
#2 90-93 Accord Console (Center e-brake aligned) Came in Euro/Can spec, J-spec and US wagons.
I've seen these come stock in Euro/J-spec CB's Sedan/Coupes not only the wagon. Probably because of the difference in LHD/RHD in these countries, this console was used since the e-brake was positioned in a neutral position the middle.
#3 92-93 Center Console ( Right e-brake aligned + 4 blank options) - Came only in 1992-93 Honda Accords Coupes/Sedans
#4 89-93 Center Console Armrest+Storage in one - Very rare option and the most cleanest center console for a CB! This console looks very identical to a DC2 or EK center console.
Add-ons
#1 90-91 Storage+Armrest (Option for 90-91 Accord owners who want a amrest for their CB since 90-91's don't have a builtin armrest like 92-93 CB's)
#2 92-93 Storage+Armrest (RARE) Euro-spec addon for the "middle e-brake console" This looks like the 90-91 Armrest add-on but made to bolt on the #2 console described above.
PICS soon....
