    aftermarket gauges

Hey guys the stock honda gauge clusters are cool and all but id really like to make my own custom gauge panel with after market gauges in it from say autometer. How hard would this be to hook them up? Is it even possible? I mean i know its possible anything is but time and money wise. Thanks

its possible...off the top of my head i would say you would need a panel to fill in the place where the gauge cluster was and then drill the holes where youre going to mount the gauges...then figure out the wiring for each gauge and connect it...depending on the guages this might come out kinda pricey but will look mighty nice

you may wanna try getting a cluster for a junk yard or something, buying some fiberglass cloth, laying it ontop of the stock gauges, and then when it hardens you have a panel to fit inside the stock gauge location. And fiberglass doesnt stick to plastic so it wouldnt be very hard at all. Wiring would be pretty easy because you would have all the room behind there to thread in somewires and such. But def a good idea bud!

        Thanks guys

Ya i know the price could be high and the mounting of them is no problem. I was thinking of either a custom fiberglass panel as you suggested or one cut out of alluminum dimond plate. The wiring on the other hand was what i was worried on, run all new wires or tie into the harness thats there. I look at the wiring diagram and it might be able to be done. Thanks guys if ya have anymore input keep it coming.

damn dude wiring aint shit...as long as you have the chiltons manual and a multimeter and some time it is a breeze. My brother and i just wired up my m3 mirrors to the connection right in back of the steering wheel and it took like 2 mins. I am in maine, and if you are close to me im sure we could work something out. This is a great idea, something that i might tgry dude depending on how yours turns out.

Ya Thanks High C for the info. I had already sat down with the manual this afternoon and figured out all the hook ups. Looks like its going to be pretty easy. Dont wait around for me to do a custom set though Cuz I wont be able to get around to that for a few months when i do a run through on the car. Good luck man.

                ^ good point..

also, if you were to get a cluster and do the work on there, is there a way to have the miles rolled to be correct? Even though I'm not going to sell my cb7, it's either mine, or parted and then to a yard, I'd rather not have a mileage rollback show up on a carfax report.

Phatdonut I was saying maybe use diamond plate but most likely a custom fiberglass panel. And as far as the cel, turn signels, low fuel...... thats were LED's come in handy. dwf137 good point about the odometer that would have to be lookin to to and prolly is different depending on what state your in. I know that my car will never be sold though. You can just get a speedo with an odometer in it already. If you are worried about not having on at all. Im not exactly sure of what you were trying to get at. Can you explain it a little better for us. Thank you
