    dash/panel painting

whose all painted their interior such as dash, door panels, console, and all that good stuff? what type of paint did you use? b/c all of my friends said pretty much any type of paint would chip and flake off of the dash b/c its like a fake leather(vinyl)...but then i see people who have painted theirs white and black. i want to paint mine black with red trim on the plastic stuff so if you can tell me the right paint to use that would be excellent.. thanks

if you just want to paint the plastic trim, you could use any type of paint really as long as you take time to prep it...just remove the trim, sand it down a bit, use plastic adhesive so that piant will stick, paint it and then clear coat it...as for door panels, the plack vynil paint worked well for me but it will fade over time

                    a word of caution....

if you have an airbag, don't paint your steering wheel cover....if you do and the airbag deploys in an accident, it will send tiny shards of paint flying into your face and eyes which will cause pain and discomfort at the very least...

hey for the vinyl dash and vinyl part of the door panels use plasti-kote vinyl dye. i used krylon fusion and it rubbed off like it wasnt even paint.. the vinyl dye works real good because it soaks into the vinyl instead of just leaving a layer on top of the vinyl
