No Carpet?

I don't know if any one have done this, but what do you guys think about going carpetless and just keep the mat. Is there a positive side (saving weight/how much weight etc.) or a negative side (Winter time, rain, etc.) Help me out guys I thought about doing this next week, but need a second opinion . Thanks

sounds pointless. the carpet only weighs like 2lbs. like a fly on an elephant. and it will be louder with road debris. later.

sometimes i like it b/c it gives a cleaner look to the interior IF DONE RIGHT. there are wires under there which are meant to be unseen. if you're carpet is aged to oblivion or super dooper dirty, i would just remove it and rock the floor (esp. if you have tan interior on a black car ). there is sound deadening material there so road noise shouldn't be too loud.

typically i associate no carpet with a built car. but that's just me.
