    dash board differences

Well I just got finished taking my dashboard off completely by myself(3rd time now) and it's almost 4:00 in the morning. It was broken in two places on the passenger side and it caused the glovebox to sit crooked. If your glove box is crooked, don't worry, this was a weird scenario. Anyways, to my point...this is the second dash I've bought from the junkyard and tomorrow I'll be buying my third. I wanted to ask if there were any differences in the wiring harness between years and models I should be wary of. I guess I could reuse my harness on there now but clipping it in there sucks. I know I've done it before so I could probably just answer my own question but I just want to make sure I didn't just get lucky last time and accidently pass up something obvious this time. Thanks for the help and wish me luck on keeping this one for longer than two years.

the only clear difference that ive found in the dashboards is that panel on the driver side, under the steering column - on the 9293's, the opening reaches all the way to the bottom edge of the dashboard, but on the 9091's its just a rounded rectangle hole. im guessing the 9293 style makes it easier to take the dashboard out from over the steering column.

also, the wiring/plugs differed between the gauge clusters. they had to add wiring for the ABS and SRS lights, and the 9293's no longer had sport shift... so i wouldnt assume that the wiring would swap over. if you get a new dash, i would swap your current wiring harness onto the new dash.

as far as actual shape differences and fitment issues, ive never actually removed a 9091 dash, only 9293's... but they seem similar enough, im sure it would bolt down.

Great point about the ABS and SRS stuff. I'm glad I asked. Not to mention I've got a lot of work in my cluster so the more I think about it, swapping harnesses would be the best way to go. But man it would be convenient to to have that panel that completely removed. Thanks a lot Mike.

Jarrett, your question wasn't about this, but the '93 SE had a passenger-side airbag. That version was the first to abandon the Accord's "compartment tray" -style dash top.

Yeah there's actually one of those out at the particular junkyard I go to but I didn't figure I'd include that as I didn't want to confuse those who didn't know about it. I got quoted $100 for a black dash with a 92 wagon console included today. The other 2 I bought for $45 a piece but it's under new management now so, oh well. Thanks for the replies guys.
