    92/93 armrest in a 90/91???

I searched around for a bit, but all I could find is threads about the optional center console armrest. My question is, has anyone successfully installed a 92/93 driver seat armrest on a 90/91? Thats the one thing that I don't like about my 91, it doesn't have that folding armrest on the driver seat like on the 92/93's. Has anyone done this before?

    Depends.
My mom's old '90 EX did not even have a console, just carpet and an e-brake.

Good question. I wondered myself. Many people here either want to use the '90/'91 optional armrest in a '92/'93 but that would require using a '90/'91 skinny console and the removal of the '92/'93 driver's side armrest.

Others try for the USDM Wagon/JDM/EDM center console on the '92/'93 and have to do the above and relocate the ebrake (to center it) from what I hear. Trying to achieve this on a USDM '90/'91 would be an issue due to the passive restraint belt anchors.

I haven't heard of anyone adding an armrest to the seat. Do the '90/'91 models come with a plug covering the hole, where a driver's side armrest would go? (a la '92/'93 DX's).

If you wanted a 92-93 armrest, you could easily just swap the back part of the 90-91 with a 92-93 seat. You remove the back map pocket, peel the fabric up on the left side and remove two bolts holding it to the frame. Take the 92-93 seatback and bolt it up in its place. if you really wanted to get fancy, you could take your upholstery from your old seat and put it on the new (cutting a small hole for the armrest stud). It would be a very simple process BUT.. on 92-93's the e-brake is pushed over to keep out of the way of the armrest but I would deal with it.

actually taking a 92-93 armrest and putting it in a 90-91 works quite well. All you have to do is figure out where you want to position it, cut the carpet back, drill pilot holes and screw it in. Ill take a picture of mine if yould like
